im using timescale with debug, but im having an issue where whenever i get hit the timescale gets reset. for example i was doing attuned sisters of battle at 1.5 speed, i got hit, and the timescale reset. any way to avoid this?

That’s because the game slows down when you’re hit then goes to normal speed when you’re hit. I think the sanic mod fixes it

I was able to get it working but there was this new latency on my controller for some reason, tried messing with V-sync but that didnt help
if its only the enemy randomizer, I think im ok with just using Scarab, as long as its basically the same thing which from what I've seen pretty much is

Hi there! 🙂 I am computer illiterate but I really want to run mods. I have a Mac and can download Scarab and ModInstaller from the pinned comment but when I click it, it doesnt open and a pop up box says the application quit unexpectantly, for both downloads. Am I doing something wrong?

So I'm on a Mac, and I just switched to 1.5 and downloaded Scarab. I followed the directions in the Steam forum to allow me to launch v1.5, and I've confirmed that I can launch the game.

Now I'm trying to open Scarab, and it wants me to select my Hollow Knight app. I selected the app from Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight, which is where it takes me when I browse local files from Steam, but Scarab gives me this error. Help?

For whatever reason, the recent versions of Scarab appear to look for "bad" paths first, and if it finds them then it just halts 🥴
I mentioned it to 56 on HKSC a day or two ago. I haven't seen it affect many people so far, but I have seen it affect some people.

Yeah, currently ItemSync doesn't sync anything that wasn't Randomized

In Rando3, you had to verify that you had the same starting Geo amount (and location), and that only happened after you loaded into the game file.
Rando4 lets you verify everything before even starting

Scarab thinks that it's installing mods, but it clearly isn't. So after resetting it, if should re-confirm your installation location.

I've never modded before but if I was to download a mod and play it on an already existing save file and then uninstall said mod would it break the existing save file? I imagine it would break the existing save file if I was to download a mod that completely changes things or adds new content but what if I was to download like the HP Bar mod. Obviously I would also backup my save just incase something did happen.

As I mentioned though, one of the reasons I was suggesting looking at it was to ensure that you both in the same room / connected to the correct server.

You can also try deleting your current mods and adding the ones that it links to see if that fixes anything (in case one of you has the wrong version of something)

Actually you can I've seen one of my friends do it, he downloaded scarab 1.5 and download the custom knight mod and it worked

Is there an updated compilation of mod descriptions? I saw several mods in scarab that aren't in the list of readmes pinned on the channel. And when I installed them to look at the files that way, the readme just says "this is a mod for hollow knight". Morehealing is the one I remember, but there were at least three like that that I saw. Also, are older mods still being ported to 1.5? It's weird seeing things like charm overhaul, fragile strength for nail arts, and of all things Lightbringer missing from the list...

I remember with the old modinstaller there was a drive file or something that had rather detailed descriptions for them all. Yes. I was just hoping for like a description of what said charms might do or whatever. Again, the old mods usually had lengthy descriptions if you dug around and looked in the right places. Didn't know if y'all knew where to find more info. Sounds like it's an issue with the modders, though. Thanks all the same!

ZeroTier is perfectly fine, especially if you're just using it for VLan (What you use to play multiplayer), if you want you can also try Hamachi, although if you're skeptical of ZeroTier you probably won't use that either. Your other options are port forwarding (it's covered in the guide but you'll need to look it up) or to play on the public servers

Steam library > right click HK > properties > local file > verify integrity of game files > don't relaunch the installer
