you don't have to delete the whole folder just move your saves in and out, it's all tied to 1 saves folder

I don't think moving just the save files will work, because there is a ton of other stuff in that folder and it seems like it's supposed to be separate for every instance/mod configuration

Hi, could you help me? I tried to install itemsync.dll via ModInstaller(manual installing) but for some reason, when I launch Hollow Knight, I get the message that ItemSync load failed and that I have to check modlog.txt

I dont know why, but I just started a randomizer save and am instantly killing all of the enemies despite only having the old nail and no damage boost charms. I tried to use debug mod to reset my damage back to its base but after hitting an enemy it goes back up to 33. How do I fix this?

Hi, just new on here. Was interested in trying modding the game (custom knight for now just for aesthetics) and I have a couple of questions:

  1. All skins are supported by both modinstaller and scarab or only some work with the latter?
  2. Can you mix elements from different skins, since in the drive every skin has different png, for example using knight from one and hud from another?

Downpatching hardly changes anything and is very easy, so don't be afraid too. But scarab is preferable

Hey, around a month or so hollow knight randomly didn't respond to my controller inputs anymore. it happened when I installed some mods and played a randomizer. I use a PS4 controller. now it only works when I have it plugged in with a USB cable, which is really annoying. I have tried everything I can think of, I uninstalled hollow knight, reset the installer, tried the steam big picture overlay, tried native controller input on hollow Knight. The game does show a PS4 controller being connected when I go to controller settings, but pressing buttons does nothing. does anyone know anything I can do about this? Thanks in advance.

To clarify, Modinstaller 2 is used for 1.4.3.2 (which is the version you are currently using) and Scarab is used for 1.5. You are using Scarab on 1.4.3.2, which is crashing the game. So what you can do now is use Steam to "right click">"properties">"local files">"verify integrity of game files" so the game is back to vanilla 1.4.3.2. Then either use Modinstaller 2 to use 1.4.3.2 still or "right click">"properties">"betas" and select "none" to go to 1.5 so you can Scarab (this is recommended).

🔹Can I use mods on pirated/cracked versions of Hollow Knight? hollowpirate

No, Piracy is not something that is supported in pretty much any "main" community for a game, and that includes modding communities.

HK Modding is only supported on the official Steam version and the official GoG version.

🔸How do I manually install mods on scarab?
While most are on scarab there are some you may need to manually install.
-Download the mod .dll or folder
make sure you get the mod that is made for your patch a lot of times mods will have separate 1.4 and 1.5 releases.
-Open scarab and click the open mods button.
-Move the mod you installed into the mods folder you just opened.
if you are on 1.5 and the mod you downloaded is a .dll then in your mods folder create a folder with the name of the mod and move the .dll into the newly created folder. In many instances the caps will matter when naming the folder.
-Load the game and the mod will be there.

I installed it in the 1.4.2.3 Version and in the Scarab 1.5 version (of course changing the Version for the first one and back to 1.5 und scarab(Deinstalled the earlier one before installing the 1.5 one))

Quick question. My brother has been playing HK on his very nice gaming laptop. When he transitions between rooms or stag stations, the game often crashes. He’ll load in, and can hear the bugs, etc, but the screen is black. Then the computer will be like “wait for HK to respond or exit.” Essentially, it is crashing a lot, even though he has a great computer. No mods. Plenty of memory.
