Technically I have an update that already works but I think everyone is waiting for more mods for 1.5, tc to stop making updates, and the ModdingApi to stop getting updates

Hey, I have the Humble Bundle DRM free version of the game but I can't get the mod installer to recognise the installation path, they share the same disk drive so I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong

The "Multiplayer Mod" that's on Mod Installer doesn't support skins.
Custom Knight will just show everyone to you as the skin that you pick, and it won't affect other player's at all.

Is it absolutely required for the mod installer to be present in your pc's main desktop folder, or can it just be in a folder in the desktop directory

The main point is that it isn't in the downloads folder or anything that restricts permissions. Putting it on your desktop is always a safe option, but it can be elsewhere. So a folder on your desktop should be fine

Well if it's from saves pre 1.4.3.2, (the stable patch that lasted for 2 years before 1.5 came out a month or two ago), then it may have some weird consequences because new content was added. But it should be fine and just adapt to the changes with probably only a few bugs

ok so im using modinstaller 2 on a mac and one of two things happenes whenever i run it. the first is that hollow knight does not run, it opens and then insta closes. if i verify the game files it will run unmodded hollow knight. one other detail is that if i close and reopen modinstaller then it says that moddingapi is out of date. i would use the pins and i got modinstaller 2 from the post because all the posts are about windows computers not macs. please help i just want to play randomizer with guns 😦

To manually install the Unix API:

To do that, just drag and drop the hollow_knight_Data folder in the zip, into the Hollow Knight install path by default, it's ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight/hollow_knight.app/,
then Right-click hollow_knight.app, and select "show contents", then navigate to: contents ᐅ resources ᐅ data. It should overwrite some files.

Note: Do this all with HK and Mod Installer CLOSED, and make sure that you've already set Hollow Knight to patch 1.4.3.2

the first thing i recommend is verifying integrity, lemme give you some screenies on where to do that

right click and head to properties

then head to local files and click verify integrity of game files

this fixes any problem with the game not launching or working correctly, in 99% of cases

thanks a lot i got the api to work now, that was easy to downpatch, like that but i'm tryin to install 1.2. since impossible any% works only on that patch, do you know what to do when the steam deposit downloader gives me : "error.PatternNotFound
Unable to dump stack trace: FileNotFound"

man i can tackle any video game challange but tryin to figure out mods and downpatching on steam gives me brain damage

Both players are using the hosts ipv4? Also make sure that both players have mod common and multiplayer client, but only the host has multiplayer server
