Well you can try just fiddling with the controller settings on steam, also might help to only plug your controller in once you get in game. But if neither of those work you can always use a 3rd party program to map controller inputs to keyboard inputs, I believe Joy2Key or JoyToKey is good

Not sure what you mean by “Mod a save file” but I’m assuming you mean using a save editor. The file you want should be called exactly “User4.dat” any of them with extra stuff is a backup or unimportant

Check a couple things, make sure that both you and your friend have Mod Common, and the Multiplayer Client mods, however only the host should also have the Multiplayer Server mod. Ensure that the host connects to their own ip before the clients, and that you're using the port "26950". Also check that the vpn you're using isn't having any connection problems. And one last thing, there's a better multiplayer mod called HKMP, or Hollow Knight Multiplayer. It's more stable, is easier to use, has some extra features, and has a support server. Though it's not on the installer yet so you'd have to manually install it. https://github.com/Extremelyd1/HKMP

1.2.2.1 support less controllers than later versions. Though it should support xbox controllers, try unplugging your controller and then plugging it in once you've loaded into the main menu. Also try fiddling with Steams controller settings in the properties page of hollow knight. If none of those work you can always use a program that allows you to map controller inputs to keyboard inputs

hey i have a problem. I have been using modinstaller with the QoL, Redwing, Blackmoth, Customknight (serecore and modcommon), benchwarp and debug. Whenever I alt f4 out the game (<- i think this is the problem), I can't access the mod installer. It would appear in a flash then disappear. Then the modinstaller gave me this file. It's pretty weird.
