Hey, I'm pretty new to hollow knight as a whole and completely new to modding so I was wondering if when I revert hollow knight into the earlier version so the mods work if that will have any effects on my old save file or if I play it again will it get corrupted? I'm just trying to stay informed so I don't mess anything up.

just downpatching doesn't affect saves
starting saves in older patches only affects actually changed content. but that's a non issue, since there is no content-change from 1.4.3.2 (the version where mods work on) and 1.5

Do a few things, first ensure that your installer isn't in your downloads folder (preferably it should be on your desktop), and make sure you run it as administrator. Second, ensure that your installer is closed and reset it. Third, after resetting it be sure that the modinstaller has the correct pathing, which should be Steam/steamapps/Common/Hollow Knight. To reset your installer follow the steps listed here: #archived-modding-help message

Still not sure why you're downloading the api, but in the folder it should have another folder called "hollow_knight_Data" move that to the Hollow Knight folder and when it asks you select "Replace the existing file"

Make sure that both players have ModCommon and Multiplayer Client, but only the host has Multiplayer Server. The port section should be set to "26950". Make sure that your Hamachi connection is alright, if somethings wrong Hamachi the circle next to the network name, or the one next to your friends pc name, will be red instead of green. Also look out for a yellow warning triangle that will also indicate if something is wrong. If everything on Hamachi is right then make sure that you connect using the hosts ipv4 and that the host connects before the client

So I've installed a good number of mods, now hollow knight won't launch? All I did was put the installer in the right place, revert to the beta, and install mods. Have I missed a step?

I'm thinking I just need to uninstall some mods, but wanted to ask here anyway

I think i must have deleted it when resetting the modinstaller

Why would you have deleted it? Resetting the installer doesn’t require you to go to your game files path
