If you had to where your save files are you could see if there is a settings file for the mod in the same folder. I've not used it so there's no guarantee there will be.

For some reason when I download mods my game won't start, it just gives me some sort of unity error and then exits the game, I can play vanilla by verifying game integrity but when I try to download mods it just crashes, anyone know why?

You probably set it to "Area + Item", area makes it so room transitions are the same but the transition from major map areas, ie. dirtmouth to crossroads, are randomized.

I'm not super familiar with Bonfire mod tbh (I think that's the one you're using?). I don't know of any way to move the UI, because until recently, most mods weren't implementing UI with other mod UI in mind, and many Mods were intended to be Stand-alone.

You can't add things to the mod installer, unless you're developing a mod :P

You can use the Zote Windows Mod Installer to put mods into your Mods folder for you:

• You need to download it from wherever it is
• As long as it's either a .zip or a .dll, then you can open Mod Installer,
• Click "Manually Install Mod"
• Find where you put the mod you downloaded, and select it
• It will tell you if it worked or not.
  Notably, ModInstaller1 will tell you any mods that you manually added.

Mod Installer 2 doesn't do anything for manually installing mods. If that's the installer you use, all mods not on it you'll need to put into the Mods folder yourself.

Default Mod folder locations:

Windows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods

MacOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight/hollow_knight.app/content/resources/data/managed/mods

After changing to 1432 (and waiting for steam to update the game; you can watch the progress in the "game downloading/installing" section. It may appear to "freeze" for like 5 minutes), try running ModInstaller again. If it doesn't work, try running it As Administrator

You might have accidentally rebound it

Open Debug, click through the bindings, and look for the Visual page

You possibly tried to rebind something else, because that's one of the pages where the dots aren't lines up

• Press ⊞ Win + R
• Copy and paste this into it %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight and hit "OK"
• ModLog.txt is in this folder.

Note: ⊞ Win is the Windows button, in between Ctrl and Alt on your keyboard

You downloaded the source code, not the mod. What you downloaded is for editing / building the mod, but it itself isn't the mod.

Mod Installer is a simple program. It just downloads and moves files, it doesn't "install" anything.
||You probably left it in your Downloads folder. You need to take it out of there btw, or it'll eventually break when you try to use it.||

You'll want ModInstaller2 for Mac, also in the pins.

I personally recommend this Multiplayer mod (HKMP), but it's not currently on the installer:

ALSO
You need to manually install the Unix Modding API if you use a Controller, otherwise it likely won't work.

To do that, just drag and drop the hollow_knight_Data folder in the zip, into the Hollow Knight install path (by default, it's ~Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight ). It should overwrite some files.

Note: Do this all with HK and Mod Installer CLOSED and AFTER you make Hollow Knight version 1432.

So, the Mod Installers all unfortunately only actually install the Windows version of Mod API. This doesn't matter for most things, but does affect some things, including Controller inputs.

You need to manually install the Unix API:
Direct link: https://github.com/HollowKnight-Modding/HollowKnight.Modding/releases/download/1.4.3.2-60/Unix.zip

To do that, just drag and drop the hollow_knight_Data folder in the zip, into the Hollow Knight install path (by default, it's ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight/ ). It should overwrite some files.

Note: Do this all with HK and Mod Installer CLOSED, and make sure that you've already set Hollow Knight to patch 1.4.3.2

Hey I've been using hollow knight mods for a while with no problems and I launched the game today and none of my mods were loading in the game even tho the game ran just fine, I went to modinstaller and it told me this. I looked on steam and it told me it was the most recent update, I tried verifying the game files, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but none of it seems to work
