i mean, as long as there is the different folder name it works ingame, so then you only need to adjust the things you want to adjust

i think using the lang support mod is easier if i can get it to work

what ive done is i copied the EN folder last night and named it SE, started translating and then today i added the code into mainmenu.txt of the SE folder and changed the ## to SE, is that what i should have done?

hey, so modinstaller won't start at all. it says it's downloading modding api, i click ok, and then this pops up every time. i've deleted the modinstaller folder, i've verified the games integrity or whatever it's called on steam to get mods off the game, i've deleted the data folder and replaced it with one saved on another harddrive. but idk why modinstaller won't start

Sorry to disturb but to play multiplayer with a friend i need and he needs to install the modcommon, test of teamwork, multiplayer client and multiplayer servers. And to be in the same hamachi server with him then in the game put the ip server from hamachi and put 26950 in the second slot and then click connect and my friend too.
Cuz i watch a video and is not working at all is like doing nothing.

I've already finished the game, and so I created a save, Idk if in that moment I created a normal or a steel soul, but I was with a friend seeing my screen, and then they saw me creating a Steel Soul save, but I can be mistaken. So, I've played 13 hours without dying to just now realize that this isn't a Soul Steel save.
I tried to create one, but I couldn't
I finished the game one more time on my old save, and then I could create a Steel Soul, but I've already played 13 hours on that save without any deaths
How can I turn it to a Steel Soul?

In the pins pinknight there's a message about fixing Hollow Point, which mentions methods you can use to edit a save file. When editing the save, you'd need to change "permadeathMode": 0, from 0 ti 1.

As far as why it wouldn't show up? If you're using mods, some of them affect starting a save. Outside of that, I'm unsure.

Then probably you haven't done everything right :P

Check the Multiplayer Troubleshooting pinned message, and make sure that you both followed each step.

Personally, I'd recommend using HKMP instead (https://github.com/Extremelyd1/HKMP), which isn't on the installer at this time, but is a lot easier to use and is actively being developed. If you choose to use it, it does have a dedicated support server linked in that GitHub page.

I'm having trouble fully understanding your problem. Mod Installer itself should be fine, unless you haven't used it in over a month.
Are you having an actual issue with a mod?
Are you trying to play with specific mods, or trying to play vanilla?

the main thing i noticed was, when i loaded up modinstaller, the mods: benchwarp, randomizer3.0, QoL were unintsalled, on the launcher, they appeared as uninstalled and i couldnt install them, when i loaded up the game, they appeared as installed

You might just need to close the installer and open it again. If you want, you can go and delete them from your /mods folder manually.

If you've used mods at least once, then the folders already exist. When following the instructions to reset your installer, make sure that you're deleting all of the files that it tells you to, and make sure that you downloaded the most recent copy of mod installer

Honestly, I'm not super familiar with Custom Trials. I know that there are trials made for different versions of the mod, so a lot of the trials are bundled with the version of it that was used. But other than that tamershrug
I can't even find a readme for it for more info.

It sounds like you accidentally bound something in debug, although I'm not sure what. If you press F1 to pull up the debug menu after it happens, you can possibly see in the debug log what it is that you're doing.

You might need to clear out your debug binding entirely (by pressing WindowsKey + R, entering %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\, click OK, then delete DebugMod.GlobalSettings.json )

People commonly try to cancel binding an action by pressing ESC, but that just binds the action to ESC

#

But Randomizer 3 shouldn't be causing any issues, and while Enemy Rando is... odd, I haven't heard of it causing that kind of issue either

AFAIK the only reason 2 is still on the installer is because technically there are some things that 2 does that were never put into 3, buut they aren't things that are even remotely comparable to everything that 3 offers.

So i'm messing around with mods for the first time in a few months and when the modinstaller goes to update mods it gives me "Unhandled exception has occurred. . ." errors. I've tried clearing out the modinstaller data from appdata/local and "verify game files" (on steam version of HK), and still the problem persists. I don't understand how it's even still "updating" mods since I was under the impression i deleted them. Anyone know what's going on?

although that could actually work too, what he meant is you go into the folder, in there are user(number 1-4 here).dat. Those are your actual save files, so user1.dat is the one that, ingame, is in the first slot. Then just copy one of those to a different location

the user1.dat.bak are automatically generated "backup" files, so you dont need to copy those. Also, your probably asking why you would even backup the files if the game automatically does that, the problem is that the backup files sometimes like to get corrupted too

Well that's your problem lol.

If you have multiple installs, then there's specific steps to get them working separately correctly (which I don't know all of off have, but iirc there's a guide for it on speedrun.com's hollow knight resources)
you'll need to reset your mod installer, and change the path of it to the correct one you want modded

Which reminds me! @real jacinth , I made a .bat that just deletes the mod installer APPDATA stuff. Is it okay if I post it for people?

Oh yeah, your wouldn't even need to pin it. I just want to post it at least once so that I can link it easily for people who seem to have difficulty finding the files

To fix "cannot access the file '\tmp\HKmodInstaller/LICENSE'":

Navigate to your \Mods folder (by default it's \Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods)
Right-click vasi.zip, and select "Extract All" in order to extract vasi.dll into your mods folder.
Double check that vasi.dll was put into your mods folder directly, and not into it's own folder.
Delete vasi.zip
Close and re-open Mod Installer

Reset ModInstallers on Windows:
Running the attached .bat file once will automatically reset Mod Installer and Mod Installer2

okay so i kinda need help. When i loaded up my laptop my hollow knight was uninstalled for some reason i reinstalled it and modloader. After this i opened hollow knight and went to saves, my save slots where loading i waited 10 minutes or so and it was still loading i deleted modloader reinstalled hollow knight. and opened hollow knight unmodded it worked. I reinstalled mod loader infinite loading. Anyome know anything abt this?

Okay, uh, if you're desperate to revert to vanilla you can try verifying your game files to truly revert to normal. You can also remove the randomizer mod dll from your mods folder manually.

exaltation, between bugs and things not working has been a pain in my side, but i really like the glorification when it does do its thing, does anyone know any mods that are as good, charm overhaul is alright, but not incredible, and as far as i can tell the installer doesn't seem to have any other charm focused mods

I just read through all the exaltations and it looks really cool, lightbringer was pretty good, it changed a couple charms and had some really cool effects. Lightbringer also changes your normal attacks though so
