if you got the game through steam, verify integrity of game files on steam, run the game, then exit, reset the installer, run installer again

My mods weren't working, and its now divulged into this

So first of all... you need to copy your game files onto your desktop, next you need to uninstall the game and installer entirely, then reinstall the game download the installer (the second one.) Next get the mods you need, then start the game, then play for like 5 minutes, then delete the save files you have right now, then put it in your old save files then WALAH (how do i spell anything help me) !

hi, so I've been trying to get some mods to work- namely, benchwarp. I've installed it through ModInstaller2 and it seems to be working fine in the mods folder, but whenever I load into the game I cannot open or create a new a save file. Are there any fixes for something like this?

Some people are having that issue temporarily for some reason. I'm still not sure what's causing it. You can try using ModInstaller2 in the pins, which works for some people having that issue, and not for some others.
You may have to manually install mods: Instructions for that are in the pinned messages, near the bottom of the list

I'm honestly not familiar enough with Family Share stuff to know if it can work or not. I'd imagine it possibly can, but it depends on how it handles the files.
You can try right-clicking on Hollow Knight in Steam, Click Properties, then Click Local Files, and Click Browse

The folder that opens up there should be where your Hollow Knight install is

You can try following the directions in the pins for Manually Installing mods, and see if it works, but I'm not sure if it will (and I'm not sure what if the ModInstallers see whatever folder your install is in- they might have modded the main person's?)

i found the problem, apparently the mod installer keeps throwing out a specific file from HK, which makes it crash, when i look at integrity it will always show 1 file. just don't know which file it is exactly
