Yeah, that's known. You probably had the menu canceled by taking damage and then tried to interact with it again.

it's possible. but more than likely, your PNG files are just in the wrong place
the fact that there's a couple other folders inside the contents one there, leads me to believe that's the wrong .app
if you're creating the contents folder, there should be nothing else in it besides what you make

You should give it the folder containing the game exe

are randos not meant to be saved?

make sure you have cloud saves for hk turned off

Hey, I downloaded the modinstaller and did it all successfully, but i cant find the application to open the UI to enable or disable the mods again (it did it automatically the first time when I installed) What is the application file called?

Hey guys Im playing randomizer 3 and the game keeps freezing when i pick up an item that is not from the chest that has fury of the fallen. it has done this twice in a row now on two different save files.

you could always just verify your game files if you want to go back to vanilla
that will just replace the 1 file that mods change
otherwise, just copy and paste your saves if you want
the installer also has a button that reverts back and forth from vanilla to modded

without seanprcore, randomizer won't load, and they definitely won't get to VS
in this case, it's probably the api bug

it seems like modcommon I download is an empty zip archive so when trying to read it the modinstaller crashes

So, I'm having trouble getting mods to activate when I open the game. The mod manager opens, but no matter what mods I activate, nothing shows up when I open the game. I've redownloaded to installer, deleted the local folder, and nothing has worked so far. Another thing that happens is when I enable all installed mods with the manager, no other buttons change from enable to disable, and vice versa for hitting revert back to unmodded. I feel like the answer is really simple, and I apologize if it is, but I thank you for slapping the answer in my face anyway.

What kind of tracker are you looking for?
like an item tracker, a checklist of sorts
something to mark off what ive gotten, where ive checked
There is one that runs off of the PlayerDataTracker mod that tracks what items you have gotten in your inventory from checks (you can use it as an overlay for streams and recordings, or I believe you can just have it open in a browser). There is another called RandoMapMod which shows item locations that you have yet to check on the in-game map, but the current installer version only works with the old randomizer 2 (though there's an update being tested for 3).

Another thing I notice happening is if you hit enable all installed mods, not mods become enabled in the game or in the modinstaller. The button still changes to revert back to unmodded though, and of course, that does nothing either.

I installed the debug mode mod, and I want to respawn close to the boss when I die, ideally saving the state I was on (so fragile charm doesn't break). I thought if I set set respawn with F7, and after I die load with F6, that'd do it. But it seems that I will just load to the last bench I was at. Any idea what's going on? Latest game version.

I used the debug mode mod from #resources , and managed to load a saved state. But when I do this, I become invulnerable and lost my tornado nail upgrade? Is this common? Is there a way to just respawn back before the boss?
did you have invuln on and not have cyclone when you made your save state?
neither, I only used the mod for load states. I did have cyclone unlocked normally
I managed to remove the invuln and get my cyclone back by using savestate + hazard respawn combo, but not sure if this is the intended use
also, is there a way to teleport to certain places in the map? (just benches are fine)

I've had this problem with picking up certain items in multiple different places while using randomizer 3. It seems that these items soft lock the game upon pickup; the knight will freeze right when you pick up the item, and no buttons register once this happens. The only way I've seen to get out of this is to be hit, but you don't gain the item, and if you look at it again, the same thing happens. Is this a known bug, or is there some way to fix this?
If it is something like a Whispering Root item, I believe there is a known bug where if you take damage while checking what the item is, attempting to pick it up again without reloading the room will cause a lock unless you are hit out of it

There's been an issue before with the game locking up on "big" items (popup screens like Mantis Claw, etc) because certain monomod methods aren't included in that build of the Modding API
But another person had a similar issue a few days ago, and said they had the current api build for Windows 10 off of the modinstaller, so this may be a new problem

my modinstaller can't automatically install modding api and mods, it tries to download the zip into /hollow_knight_Data/Managed/Mods/ but all downloaded zips are 0 bytes, modinstaller tries to install it and gives me an io exception

Finder -> Services -> New Terminal at Folder
Then type
either mono ModInstaller.exe
or ModInstaller.exe
So use debug mod, give yourself everything, be invincible, and get the achievement

I used the debug mode mod (latest game version), and I think it's causing some game states to reset? For example, switches that i've activated to unlock shortcuts before become unactivated, items I've picked before (the ones that trade into geodes) respawned. Is this a known bug?

the .app is a thin wrapper over a short bash script which checks if you have mono, installs it if you don't, and then just does mono --arch=32 on a contained exe which it fetches on first run
