Ok so enabling/disabling doesn't give me the error anymore for custom knight. So that's a win.

Ok so to attempt to load skins, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Custom Knight (didn't work) and then using the .bat to clear the global settings (which also didn't work).

I'm at a complete and utter loss.

Did you download skins and put them in the custom knight skins folder? Which skins did you put in there? And some screenshots would be helpful to diagnose better

Oh my god. I figured out the issue

I have no clue why, but i believe the hall of gods extras mods caused the issue. I'm double checking now, and if that's not it, I'm gonna go through and try and figure out which mod is causing the issue.

The Hall of gods extras was the only new mod I had installed. So Idk what else it could be +-+

Nvm, that's not it.
But it's apperently another mod that caused the final issue. I'll figure out which one it was.

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

hi! I have gog version of HK and after first launch of scarab any attempt of installing mods ends up in error prompt. After that HK bricks(not even team cherry logo shows up) and scarab says the game path is incorrect(path is correct) constantly(even though the first time it was okay). Any help/tips?

Just do a color swap with a drawing program

Depending on exactly what you're doing you may have to be a bit more careful, but for just a basic recolor you just swipe over the whole sheet & boom done

Also at this point, between existing skins & especially Colour Knight, unless you want a very special color there's no real need to recolor the basic sprite's cloak because it probably already exists

Every time I start a new randomizer save my game seems to break? The recent items log shows that it gives me downslash twice, and I'm able to play normally up until I open and then close the pause menu, at which point it freezes. The music keeps playing and I can still hear enemies walking around, but it's frozen on one frame and buttons don't do anything.
Non-randomized saves work just fine and don't have any issues. I updated some of my mods today, but I don't remember which ones because I just do it automatically through Scarab, so I don't know which one is causing this.

So you have added new mods then

Regardless, you should still disable mods you aren't actively using and mods that may conflict with randomizer. Like ones that change charms. You also should remove benchwarpfix unless you have the specific bug stated in it's description. Otherwise, it may do unintended things

After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

The description for it is a little misleading:
You can see enemies that have been damaged (by any source).
If the enemy hasn't been damaged, then you won't see it.

Additionally: You might need to restart your game at least once after initially installing it and running the game

Specifically, you need to go into the mod options from the main menu, then disable the mod, then enable it again. Then restart the game

I recently installed a controller inconsistency fix for my copy of Hollow Knight. And it works great; before I'd have to deal with the controller randomly not working. The problem is, when I use it, the modding API stops working. Does anyone know how to make them both work at the same time?

After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.
