Steady body is really helpful here since you're pretty much always close to him and without the knockback, timing the shade dashes is much easier.

For a strat just stand in front of him and attack. When he dashes, dash through him and continue attacking. When he jumps simply stand still and use a spell ideally. He can't hit you with a jump attack if you don't move. Always stay close and don't try to heal. He will only do the ranged attack if you back off, so never.
When he gains his shockwave attack later into the fight just dodge it with a shade dash or with a dive if the dash is on cooldown.||
