||Something you can do for pretty much any boss whose main damage is by trying to tackle you:

Pair Stalwart Shell with Quick Focus. This will make you invulnerable for long enough to heal even after being hit. Then throw in Thorns of Agony to dish out damage when you are hit . Then add Grubsong to gain soul just from the hit! Additionally you can add Spore Shroom and Defender's Crest to make a giant toxic cloud when you heal.

This means that any boss that simply hits you up close will be hit back from thorns then you can heal up plus you are getting soul from the hit itself. You hardly have to put out damage with your nail in order to keep up a healthy supply of soul.

This has worked for many different bosses for me. Just try to avoid damage when you can, and then heal right when you are hit. Should be able to have soul the whole time.||
