i don't know really anything about skong besides the fact that ||they made hornet really creative so that things felt fresh and free but they made a point to not make her better than the knight was because that wouldn't make sense in the logic of the lore||

||aka they gave her more things but nothing was at all individually stronger than shade cloak and the three spell upgrades||

it's a little faster paced and genuinely feels so satisfying to play

||start markoth with a pogo, depending on where the shield spins during the beginning you double jump accordingly as it spins by, ideally markoth decides to move upwards so you can keep pogoing, after the positioning gets uncomfortable you can pivot to spamming spells if you feel good enough OR you can dodge the nails until he does the spinning shield attack in which you can just absolutely nuke him with as many spells as possible. the reason why the damage barely matters here is because you can loop staggers on failed champion anyways so all you're really looking for is an initial stagger in that fight and you'll be fully healed with max soul||

as far as i know with ||unbreakable strength you only need 21 hits to kill markoth and any extra spell damage mitigates that heavily||

||as for him whenever he jumps back he's doing the heavily telegraphed hammer slam shockwave, he will do 1-3 of these at random and then decide to jump at you with the overhead, this is where you get most of your damage. after the first stagger is where it becomes easy. essentially every time you pogo his armor the stagger timer resets. so you can stagger him, heal, pogo his armor, heal, pogo armor, heal until you're maxed out, and then do pogo > dream nail for soul and loop that until you're maxed there too. then assuming you have quickslash and unbreakable strength you do 3 nail hits on the wakeup, and hit him 6 times before his temper tantrum. a couple shade souls after that should restagger.||

||the final stagger before his death is infinite no matter what you do, so you don't even have to loop him you can just chill there and heal before killing him. once you get good at this strategy he becomes what i like to dub "healing stations"||

so typically that bench is where ||the pantheon actually becomes difficult, it's just soul tyrant, diabolical combo of markoth and zote, healing station, grimm||

funnily enough i rarely died to said combo

but it was by far the most terrifying part of any attempt
