||that is its only use, although one important thing to note is that when u die, ur relics, such as hallownest seals, are not at risk, whereas ur geo is, since if u die a second time without killing ur shade then u will permanently lose all the geo that was held in ur original shade. so what i would recommend is simply keeping the relics until u have smth expensive to buy, then if u feel like it u can sell just enough to buy that expensive item and continue holding onto the rest of ur relics||

this said, i wouldn't recommend trying to stall that long per say ... i personally play aggressive (because i can't be bothered) and ||after using a swoop to boost up i go over and pogo on them at the edge of the screen||, but a decent strategy for learning is to just ||focus down the vengeflies when they spawn and just do a simple pogo when they do a swoop. pogoing the vengeflies can help not get hit by a swoop if that's an issue.||

of note: ||the one on the right has less hp (a touch under 60% of the left one's on ascended)||

||you can try using steady body instead of mop, it saves 2 notches while keeping the control||

||for markoth's movement: He will start in the middle. From there he can move to either of the corners and then back in the middle or to another corner.
You don't want to chase him around too much. Only attack if he is fairly close and you have a good opportunity to attack. The strategy is always having a nailart charged and then using great slash or dash slash to hit him when you have the chance. You can hit him even through his shield and the knock back will help keep him away if he moves towards you. If he pressures too much, move to another platform.
Don't use spells in the first phase at all. Save them for the second phase. Once the second phase starts wait for a good moment and use all of it for shade soul.
For charms it's a little difficult. Since strength and qslash don't affect markoth they are not great for the fight, however you really want them for the rest of the bosses in that bracket. Generally your charm build is mid. Strength and qslash are great but sharp shadow and mark of pride I would really recommend getting rid off. Instead of mark of pride use shaman stone. It's great for markoth and every other boss as well. Instead of sharp shadow I'd use steady body and nailmaster's glory for markoth specifically. For other bosses you can use grubsong instead if you want||

||the charm recommendation is generally for the pantheon, not just for markoth. Mop and sharp shadow are never really good||

yeah that's usually the problem. The charms aren't good but they make you rely on them very quickly. It's best to get used to the ||normal nail and dash length again. Same with steady body you will also need a bit of time to get used to it. Once you do it's incredibly helpful though||

there's the classic dps build too (||strength/qs + shaman/twister||)

ah, so classic dps build with some tech instead of ||twister|| ... i personally don't think ||grubsong is great to rely on (i assume it's just there because the only potential other good 1 notch is like sprintmaster if your playstyle fits it, as NMG doesn't help much in this fight), and steady body is certainly a playstyle one||

||steady body is incredibly good for pure vessel, it's not just a playstyle (it's a great charm but some people just hate using it, even though it's really not that hard to get used to)

but yeah, the other good 1 notches (nmg and dream wielder) are basically useless in the fight so that's why grubsong is there||
