||quick slash is very good for the boss beacuse it stays in place before doing an attack so you have plenty opportunities to slash it, quickslash making that just a lot better||
||strenght is good for dmg||
||use sharp shadow if ur having trouble with dashing trough the boss, he is pretty chonky||
||if you dont wanna be that close to it id use longnail, you dont need that much range so mark of pride isnt needed||
||id keep spell twister beacuse ddark is very usefull and spells are overall, although i dont find myself using other spells as much in that fight||
||shamans is still gud but if u dont have enough notches id get strenght instead, nail is better for that fight||
||dont use grubsong, you wanna avoid damage at all cost||
||for a whole combination id say quick slash, strenght, spell twister/sharp shadow/long nail and shaman stone||

||no i know thats towards my direction, i just mean like almost everything for example his bat and fire attacks are by far the easiest to hit him and if he just never uses them i just sit there doing nothing, also which move he uses after the one where spikes come from the ground (makes the difference from being able to heal even if you get hit to not being able to heal if you dodge), his 75% 50% 25% attack where you can sometimes just get 6 fireballs on the lowest row in a row and take guaranteed damage etc||

Anyway @narrow crow, there are definitely optimal ||charm|| builds for bosses and other parts of the game, but for your first playthrough, there's joy to be had in experimenting around on your own and seeing which ||charms|| you have the most fun with. If you run into a spot that's giving you trouble, we can recommend switching up ||charms|| for that place in particular, but general gameplay is entirely a matter of preference.

this is for a general charm build. For some specific bosses you might wanna focus more on ||spells or nailarts||
||nail length is never great though||

||practice the boss on ascended difficulty in the hall of gods.
You don't need to be able to beat it on ascended but it's good floorless practice.
For the fight mainly focus on nailarts.
Pretty much always just have a nail art charged and wait for him to approach you so don't chase him around. A great slash has enough range to hit through his shield if necessary. It also has a bit of a delay so usually release the button a bit earlier than you'd think.
If he gets too close don't be greedy but just move to a different platform and then wait there.
You can also use dash slashs if you have more space and the boss is far away (usually at the top of the arena).
For the first phase don't use your soul but save it. If you need to heal that's fine, you can easily do that in the shield spinning phase, however don't use any spells.
In the second phase wait for the right moment (anything safe works but shield spinning phase is usually best) to then use all of your soul in form of shade souls. Try to get as many double hits as possible. He should be pretty low at that point so just use nailarts again just like the first phase for the rest. Of course now you can use spells whenever you have the soul for it.
I don't recommend using abyss shriek though since it's pretty risky

Charms like nailmaster's glory, twister and shaman stone are very strong, however of course you need to use a charm build that also works for the other bosses.||

hey guys, I'm playing hk on steam (win11) with xbox controller. But the controller will get unresponsible randomly during the game (the xbox button is still working but the controller just gets disconnected from the game). Any idea how to fix it?

||when he is doing that silly slash attack just dash away from it, do 2 slashes then walk a bit in the direction he was slashing||
|| for the attack where he turns into a drill pogo him or just behind him then slash him||
||for the vampire thingies dash then double jump, and do some slashes||
||for the pufferfish attack when its the double flame do a big jump, when its the one just do a small one, and dont jump over the flames that wont hit you, its gonna mess you up trust me||
||for the spikes js go into safe place then when its done dash to him and slash the hell out of him||
||dont shriek him on the stagger, instead heal or hit him for soul||
||for charms quick slash, strenght, shamans and soul catcher or soul twister depending if you heal or use spells more||

||if your having trounle with some boss, go to hall of gods, if you dont know where that is js go down its easy to find||
||and i recommend doing all bindings (sepereatly or all of em at once doesnt matter) on p1 and p2 beacuse you get lifeblood on every bench after you do 8 bindings, first practise p2 ofc when you get there, especially oro and oblooebes||
