||longnail is often even better than mop because of the lower cost. Still both aren't great. And you don't need to be a speed runner for that to be the case.
Early game they can be extremely helpful however once you get to the harder bosses and have better charms that actually increase your damage output the length charms get heavily overshadowed. Most people who still use them later on usually do so because it's extremely convenient which makes them seem way better and more useful than they actually are||

||I don't use longnail either. Still it's usually better than mop since it fits into more builds. Mop taking up 3 notches means you need to forgo either strength, shaman or qslash which are all far too strong to remove for length. Lnail can simply fit together with those while only sacrificing something like twister.
Still of course a pretty bad trade but not as bad as mop||
