||thats actually a common issue, its what i struggled with aswell, personally i didnt use the advice im about to give you, but: to tell apart from the nail throws and the void tendrils, he usually goes off screen with nail throws but wont teleport that far if using tentacles||

||if you're dashing through him most of the time try pogoing some of his attacks, especially the lunge, it'll put you in the mindset of being ready to jump when tendrils come out||

Also, after he finishes focusing, dash straight at him and hit as many times as u can, he will have a 2-3 seconds of doing nothing||

on my 7th attempt ish at the boss (was doing ||hog||) i knew how to dodge every attack pattern pretty much, the rest was just perfecting it

1. Leave his vicinity ASAP
2. ||Time your DDark and continue attacking him||

One of those is clearly more aggressive than the other

You can usually ||hit him after most attacks but it takes practice to get used to. Don't rush to him as soon as he spawns but take your time to avoid the attack safely and then dash towards him to attack. Try to learn the different attacks he has, how to avoid them and how you can deal damage afterwards.||
