where do i go after ||soul master||?

||usually the strategy is slash, jump, pogo, dash, and go behind it to hit it again/fireball when it slashed at you. Audio cues help as well, you should be able to tell when it is rolling. Descending dark is really useful for the fight and it’s not even that much of a time waste for the speed run achievement. Spell dps is nice & ddark gives iframes too. There is also the chandelier you can access by going up into the ceiling right before the fight, then cutting the rope to remove one of thwm||

||now you have dive you can either try to get a simple key and open the slot for a simple key under soul sanctum in city, or go back to crossroads and explore the top right||

you have a LOT of time to prepare, so dont follow an any% nmg route. i would recommend getting ||shaman stone, spell twister, and descending dark/shade soul for the dreamer bosses and hollow knight. nail upgrades are helpful, but not as good as the others||

you can still follow the any% nmg route for major item skips such as ||ismas tear||, but dont go and do ||minimum gear watcher knights||

Mostly for the no floor part you should charge nail arts or use shade souls and try to kill the enemy as fast as possible, and you can also pogo certain ones that spawn (and also pogo the spikes)||

||I would use lifeblood core and heart, it helps you get extra health for survivability, as well as shaman or twister or both. You can also use the weaver song+ grubsong combo which can get u have enough soul basically all the time to spam shade soul or descending dark. Try to stick in a corner for most of the run||

||you can change the loadout depending on what u prefer, but spells are generally better here||

well im not sure specifics, but i think i've heard ||shaman stone is good in general if u use at least some spells, u might be using nail arts a lot cuz they deal good dmg and have good range so nmg is decent, grubsong is just good in general, soul gathering charms will be decent, quick focus is helpful but u don't need it tbh theres lots of healing opportunities after u've learn the moves, i think MoP is good if u want to be really safe but it doesnt effect narts so maybe not, and strength if u use nail decently enough in the fight||

Attack 1 (||dash uppercut||):

1. ||shade dash through nkg||
2. ||dash away from him (so, in the same direction that he dashes) and hit him twice before he does the uppercut||
3. ||jump and pogo him during his dash, then optionally turn around and hit his back||

Attack 2 (||dive dash||):
||jump and pogo him while he's on the ground and dash away from the flames||

Attack 3 (||flame pillars||):
||there's a lot of ways to do a lot of damage during this attack, but if you're just starting i recommend walking at a moderate speed across the arena and upslashing once or twice when you pass under the boss||

Attack 4 (||fire bats||):

1. ||stay on the other side of nkg and dodge the bats||
2. ||jump, wings, and dash over the bats (i never use this strat so idk if it works, apparently its inconsistent so dont use it)||
3. ||jump and dash between the upper two bats and the lower two bats, if you time it right you should be able to hit him a couple times without him teleporting away||

Attack 5 (||cloak spines||):
||just dodge it||

Attack 6 (||pufferfish||):
||jump as low as possible and then "circle back", other ppl can explain this better||

basically the way i personally do this is ||if i'm far from nkg when the attack starts, i start walking towards him slowly to bait the second flame, then i run up to him and hit him twice from the side, fall while continuing to move slowly and upslash him (it might be possible to get two hits here), jump and hit him once on his other side (it might be possible to gets two hits here also), then shade dash through him and hit him twice on the original side. if i start close to him i do the same thing except i forget about baiting the pillars and do a shriek at the end instead||
