Well that. The combat at the start is as simply as you have an attack, and 4 directions to attack in, but as you progress you get some abilities, but with the tools given theres much to improve on and by the end with hard work you can improve so much, hitting combos and feeling so connected to it that the fights and attacks will feel like a dance (itll make sense if you play) and it will simply feel like a part of you, basic tools given but if the time is used you can do a TON with it

There isn't a trick to instantly beat the boss. ||Some advice I could give is using a lot of spells. Specifically your up spell does a lot of damage and your dive spell can be used to dodge many attacks in a bad situation. If there is anything you specifically struggle with you can tell us and we can try to help. Remember that it is still gonna take time though and won't suddenly make the boss easy just with a few tips||

||quick slash isn't good as you don't need the extra attack speed while enemies are flying, get knockback accross the screen and die in two hits
for me nail arts and shade soul are peak in colo
so you want shaman, nail master
if you have it, strenght is busted, and if you have strenght having mark of pride can be good, that leaves you with one slot for either grubsong or dream wielder (you can farm the last enemies of waves for infinite soul)
if you don't have strenght, then you better just stock on soul with like, eater twister grubsong/dream wielder||

You can practice, and should practice, them in the ||hall of gods (you have to play ascended)||

But basically

First off, play it safe, ||nail arts|| are amazing at hitting him without putting yourself in danger, but that does mean that you can be attacking him constantly, as sometime, he will just be in a bad position for you to be able to hit him, second off, ||shriek should not be used, use shade soul instead, unless you see the perfect shriek opportunity you are likely to not hit the whole spell, maybe take damage in the process, so going for double hit shade souls is definitely more worth it, using that you can make the second phase really short
Thirdly health, in pantheons he only has 680 health, that is actually really small, phase two only has 340, that is 4 double hit shade souls, so the tldr is, as long as you have ressources (either health or soul) the fight will be quick, as you can either trade health for damage and damage tank, or trade soul for 80 free damage, that said if either one of your ressources gets low then it is a big problem
So the absolute 100% consistent strat to beat markoth is to get very good at soul tyrant, and using the 4 lifeblood you get at the bench right before, that way you can somewhat easily get into markoth with full soul and maybe more than your max health
And then you use something like heart to get even more ressource and you simply beat the boss with sheer numbers ||

||i dont know if youre good at beating gpz normally but definitely focus on jumping over his shockwaves, use ddark as much as you can, kill his mini zotelings as soon as they spawn, DONT kill the exploding dudes if you have the soul (waste of soul, also a bit risky, instead try healing or waiting) and definitely just practice him ascended/radiant and learn his attacks and healing opportunities as much as possible||

||also remember you can do 1 binding at a time but id asume you wouldnt wanna do that||

||if he spawns above you, dash away as soon as you notice. he will usually walk back after this attack so hit him at that time. when he shoots a soul-ball, try to get the ball to hit the wall or ground (it'll despawn), and go back to hit him. when hes about to do his attack across the ground with his nail behind him (as seen in the image), jump on top of him and pogo him or get behind him to do a regular attack. using vengeful spirit is also helpful in this fight. if youre having trouble with his speed then try NOT to heal in this fight, its just an opening for him to hit you again. Also remember, you can always learn his moveset, speed and attacks before actually trying to fight||
