I guess that you should not have dashed… generally you want to keep your dash for dodging stuff exclusively, and in that case double jumping would have been safer as it would have left you with a dash|| in case of trouble

||you could focus on maximising damage instead and learning the attacks to dodge. What i used for nkg is shaman stone, spell twister, quickslash and strength. But if you're finding it hard to get in spells (he's fast as hell), then you could swap out shaman stone and spell twister for shadow dash, long nail and nailmaster's glory and opt for a nail only strat. if you're struggling with his attacks, then here's what i recommend from my run: when he shoots fire pillars from the ground, get one hit in at the beginning and then focus on dodging. When he dashes at you on the ground, shade dash through him and then dodge the fireballs. When he shoots out pink bats, jump up after the first pink bat passes, and then shadow dash through the second that comes from the top and get in loads of hits + a few shade souls. When he jumps up and dashes at you from the ceiling, shadow dash through him and immediately jump up, and try to pogo him when he stands up. Other than that go to the sides for the pufferfish attack and focs on dodging it.||

Quick slash barely helps, mark of pride is nice but not necessary, shape of unn actually does allow for wacky heals (during bats and after the uppercut), hear||t is always good… charms don’t matter that much

||If you're focusing on only nail attacks (my dumbass didn't use a single spell during nkg cause my mind blanked out) then you could swap out shaman and spell twister for mop and sharp shadow, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND because it makes it drastically harder. Try getting used to regular nail length, if possible||

||When they jump they will aim it to the location where you were when they jumped and then bounce off the ground a bit further. You can dodge it by taking a step or dashing in either direction after they jumped. It can be difficult if both of them combine their attacks so sometimes using the wall helps and it also just takes practice to predict their movement||
