The ||hitbox is always a bit unexpected the first time around||, just try practicing and ||time your hits a little earlier, aiming a bit above the "hornet head" and closer to the wings. You can try to use MoP for practice. When you pogo them, pogo, dash in the same direction, pogo again, and use shade soul. When they throw goo, you can either ddark or try to step between it, its easier to dodge a bit if you're closer to the boss (~1/3 of the arena)||

||from starting room make your way down to the big room with the water. Jump off the elevator that goes down to it and make your way to a right transition at the top of that room. If you go down you can hit a lever to let you get back there more easily in case you die. From there just head up, there will be a lot of levers you will have to hit. Eventually, you will see a doorway to the right which very obviously leads to the subarea. If go up and right from there you can get a bench for some geo. Continue going left from there and you will eventually find other ways out as well.||

Mods/Controller not working correctly on Steam Deck
Issue: Steam Deck installs the Windows version of HK, then runs it in proton. This would be fine except that you install Linux Scarab, which replaces the Assembly-Csharp with the Linux version, and then it doesn't like to work correctly on "Windows" anymore

Solution: Go to the HK Library page, select Properties -> Compatibility, check "Force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool", and select "Steam Linux Runtime" (Note: not the sniper or soldier versions)

This will reinstall the Linux version of the game, and move some files around, so you'll need to select "Change Paths" in Scarab and change it to the new install path, then reinstall your mods. After this, everything should be working.
