Yeah I still can’t make a decision on what type of caterpillar to base Gwen off of, since actual white witch caterpillars aren’t very visually interesting
What I find interesting irl is how long it took us to figure out what they look like… only for it to turn out that the caterpillars resemble the white witch so much (they carry the same coloration as an adult white witch) it’s almost like a pokemon evolution
I should probably incorporate the prickly spikes into the caterpillar design
I need to redo the lineart anyway since I used the wrong line thickness and I messed up the legs

Oh really? Well fluther is just a rare type of the moths. And all my moth ocs are from hallownest before the pale king was alive/born. That's why in my other drawing of Sötét (aka this one) who has hole in his wings. He had a battle of the butterflies or something like that. Still working on the story though of all of the moth ocs I have.

how do you practise?
Generally i just do anything i think will be fun. Normally its also a bit ambitious and difficult and that pushes me to focus and really think about what im doing. Though really strong art fundamentals also helps. I could never animate something like this if i didnt have a strong understanding of form and perspective.

If u want to practice just animating then for sure do lots of short stuff. :] storyboarding is great for working on other stuff like composition and general cinematography but not so much animation. Can help you learn strong poses though!

when Silksong came out I muted the subreddit for like over 2.5 months

it happens to me sometimes too, I make alot of OC and art related to them -- post them into the subreddits and barely got anything out of it. The only thing that worked in those subreddit are community interaction posts
but at the end of the day i learned that internet validation doesnt make an art good but it does sometimes hurt to see posts overshadowing yours because they did something that appeals to internet nature (at least thats common in the subreddit i post my arts in)
