Had an idea crop up for a possible HK/SS species of bug.

Namely, the Vulture Bee. A South African bee that builds its hives in carcasses of animals. Creating a substance of “honey” that’s quite literally rotted flesh tuned into wax.

For the idea, I was thinking of making my bee’s mask resemble a Bearded Vulture. Mainly, because I think it he cool. Her mask, being the pale bone, while the “bearded” appendages is cloth. (or hide)

She has a very vulture esk design- similarly to the bird-like bugs in SS. Actually looking like some creature you’ll find in Bilewater or similar environment.

To tie in the Vulture Bee’s less than savory behavior. I was thinking of having her be a butcher. Or rogue killer. That harvests other bugs to add to her collection. Naturally, she’ed be a boss, but the grotesque vibe of seeing her bisect her pray and turning them into honey would be kinda weird but fitting in HK’s dark fantasy aspects..

I’m thinking of a three sword slashy movement. Think kinda like bladed “wings” that emerge out of her cloak. You don’t really see her arms- so it make it seem like she has knives for wings (though she will have wings and the ability to fly/chase the player if they try to double jump/dash away.

Going along with my “Japan Bugs” theme, my very first OC, who I’ve posted a couple times about. Is gradually becoming a reference to Sokushinbutsu- which is a Buddhist meditation where the one undergoing the meditation is mummified as they pray. ((As in they refuse food or water for so long they literally rot while praying))

I haven’t worked out ALL the details of how my spider OC works, or how I want to infuse this representation. BUTT 🍑 I’m thinking of sprinkling in a little bit of Jorogumo, which are spider-woman yokai that lure men (in this case bugs) into their lairs to feast on their life force. (Amongst other things)
