I love Nosk's ambience, it's genuine peak
But as a boss fight it's just fucking abhorrent. One of the worst and least engaging fights in the game. Although the ascended arena without the platform does make it a bit better. Part of my hatred is that platform just like Mawlek.
So there are two kinds of fights in this sense

• Bosses that chase you
• Bosses that just go around the map aimlessly
  Nosk is the latter. Now that alone isn't necessarily a bad thing. Many amazing fights do this like AbsRad, Markoth or Tyrant.
  Nosk does two things that matter for a good erratic (how I'm gonna call it) fight wrong
  1 The arena is too big.
  So unlike Markoth or Mawlek you need to spent too much time chasing rather than being able to be close. Now, a big arena is important for the boss by design, but I think it's just way too big, and it especially shows if you remove the platform.
  2 For a big arena, you need either the chance to approach or constant chances of approach. Nosk goes away too quickly but takes a while going away.
  When he dashes he immediately leaves your range, but takes a good amount of time to complete the dash, then he has to think and either dash again into you taking another while, or jumping. No chance to approach as he goes away. This is true for dashes, jumps and also the even worse spit attack.
  Also since he stays most of the time on the border you want to stay there, also the middle but the spit is a big area denial around him so you can't stay close there.
  Tyrant teleports quickly and gets there quickly, so you can catch it during the teleports to strike, giving you many chances to approach.
  Absrad stays in place for a while before teleporting so you can approach giving you good chances of approach.

I mean I don't hate it hate it but it's got to be my least favorite boss of the game all things considered. Besides not being on P5, all of this makes it so hard to optimize.
All in all I don't think it is a bad boss. I just hate fighting it.
