shaun I will tell you this. Remove it from your head that hollow knight is meant to be a game about "suffering" or whatever you have heard about this being the dark souls of platformers. At its core, hollow knight has countless ways to make things easy for you. Spells, nail upgrades, nail arts etc which you can find by exploring and making things easier. I genuinely think hk getting the "Dark souls" tag is the worst thing that has happened to the game's image since its release. Please just treat it is a metroidvania and don't be afraid to try new things.
