theres two things which helped me figure out climb, first of all genio's explanation of deciding whether to go to the next platform or not depending on whether it's in you, in the next platform or anywhere else,

and also that you should jump during telegraph and use wings as the beam materialises, dashing if needed. you can stop for a second if you need to get your rhythm back, but with proper timing you should be able to minimise the chance of getting hit considerably.

also if possible, try to get as many platforms up as you can before the first beam spawns to reduce the time that you are actually climbing for
