BV and Hornet boss variants both stagger very easily and can be bullied to the edges of the arena. Relatively skilled players will try to control the center of the arena, and will only give up that space for extended periods of time when they want to heal in a corner.

HB decreases the number of hits needed for a stagger and these bosses are among the few in game that can even take knockback. So it aids in creating the two advantages that a player is trying to get when fighting these bosses

Think of HB as a psuedo quickslash for hornet and BV. It’s not great but it does technically have a use case
