• Game theory: A study of situations where people can make decisions and they don't know what the other person is going to do, very applicable part of math that is HUGE for economics to name an example
• Geometry: A study of "shapes" sort of, but i don't want to say almost anything about it cause idk shit
• Numerical analysis: study of approximations (in a way), usually with a computer in mind

A lot of things in math are related to algebra, but math is not necessarily "built" on algebra. Classical math is built on "Set Theory" (i.e. we define things from sets) and then we get things we want. I am probably not explaining algebra in the best way possible, partly due to me not being an expert in this field, and partly due to the fact that the association with algebra is often "equations" coming from high school. There is more to what makes a group but I hope this gives an idea of what I am talking about)

You CAN regard things from abstract algebra as "axioms". Like in Real Analysis (part of analysis concerned with real numbers), often textbooks/classes don't go into construction of real numbers from set theory. They just assume that it's a "Complete Ordered Field" and then sometimes go over whatever the fuck that means, and then work from there. But Set Theory is what most people would refer to as "foundations" of classical mathematics

@quartz cave ig a better explanation for game theory is "Part of math concerned with modeling strategic situations". Saying "you don't know what the other person will do" was inaccurate from me. Something like chess could technically be studied in game theory, but afaik it's not too interesting apart from knowing that there exists the optimal way to play, since the fact that there exists a play that either forces a draw or for one side to win makes it less appealing for game theory.

Games like Diplomacy or Catan do have some game theory stuff written about them iirc
