i am currently pondering how well, lets say overengineered i want to build up my modinstaller, and i thought id ask for the opinion of someone that isnt me that might actually use it lol.
My question is, have you ever gotten into a problem with one of the GUI modinstallers where uninstalling/disabling a mod lead to your install breaking because of dependency issues?

My first knee jerk reaction is to build true dependency tracking that allows me to keep track of forward/rdeps, which would enable me to disallow the user to ever make a breaking installation change dependency wise but i just am not sure if that ever actually has a use

But I do believe Scarab has dependency tracking in the sense that I remember enabling mods and having their dependencies automatically downloaded as well. Not sure if they are automatically disabled afterwards.

I honestly would not complain about having an APT-like interface and usage, it's one of my favourite package managers and uninstalling orphaned deps with a apt autoremove is a hell of a lot more efficient than automatically removing dependencies after one package is removed (lest they share dependencies and you just end up disabling and enabling the same application over and over again)
