if that happens to you pretty often i can recommend you start jumping to about PV's head height before dashing towards him on dagger throw( its also just technically safer in general ), that way if you mistake it you can buffer wings while dashing and can probably clutch a ddark, the tendril hitbox is ass you can get away with a lot more then you think
