also it's best to stay on one platform, and only move if markoth comes near you, I prefer the top two since you can always see the daggers he throws at you. If you go on the wall to dodge be cautious since they can spawn in the wall and you can't see them

Spell twister and shaman is recommended for second phase, as everyone already said just spam shade soul, ideally during his shield spin and hopefully you'll get some double hits granted he's not backed up against the wall or next to a platform. after that you may need to get in a few hits (nail arts) to finish him off depending on the number of double hits. but be patient let him come to you

You can also pogo him in his shield spin in first phase for extra damage, it's great if he's above a platform since then he doesn't move and you can get 5 to 6 pogos in. If you think it's not worth going for it or if he's at the bottom of the arena just leave it, no point going for it
