Yeah, so to heal 8 masks you need 10 + 10x2 + 10x4... +10x256. But if even losing a mask doesn't reset this then it'd get awkward real quick .
And yes there is a quick way to calculate this, because this is a geometric progression of base 10 and ratio 2, so you can use the sum of a geo progression formula, let me find it rq
