He doesn't get knocked into you. Let me explain.
Shriek's knockback depends on what position you cast the shriek from.
If you're looking left then shriek will push enemies away horizontally.
If you're looking right then shriek will pull enemies into you horizontally.
Knockback is never vertical, but if an enemy is moving diagonally up or down then beccause of how knockback works that movement will be accelerated.
So if you cast right shriek and Markoth is moving down, he will be pulled to you and his downawards speed will be increased a bit, restulting in him flying into you.
How to avoid it? SImple: only shriek him during shield spin since he's not moving
