It does damage the boss, until it is one shot. It will continue shooting but it will not deal the final blow. U need to trigger the fight and 1 nail hit should do it if you have been waiting long enough next to him with Grimmchild

Yea P5 is a slog I have beaten most of the bosses in AB but I still haven't beaten P5

Most of P5's challenge is trying not to get bored and Absrad
