@naive dew whenever you fast travel a hard save is created to reload that hard save on the main menu press up x and b it takes you to the last Pokemon center you were at so you can use it to reset zones if you want different spawns to be near you (this only seems to help in medium zones as small and large zones it seems the spawns are always in the same place) you can also use this to reset donuts and once you get the donut you want just fly again and it’ll save it
For donuts wait until you’re done the main dlc story you can totally shiny hunt without them though most of my hunts have been without
there are only 2 flavors you’ll care about sweet for shinies and sour for berry hunting
For berry hunting you’ll want to reset until you get item power berries level 3 and big haul power 1 and 2 and just go into a 4 star zone and break all the pokeballs to get a ton of good berries
For shinies just reset until you get shiny level 3 (the way shiny levels work is each 1 gives you an extra roll so you have 1 base roll 3 from the shiny charm and up to 3 from a shiny donut for a total of 7 also shiny level 3 gives you 1 guaranteed shiny of that type you can reset this by doing the backup save method I’ve mostly used the backup save method to reset for rare spawns like alolan marowak because it only has a chance to spawn so shiny hunting without would be a pain)
If you want to hunt shalphas you can get alpha power 3 along with the shiny donut which raises alpha rate to 51% but as a warning it can make the hunt suck since if there’s any alphas near spawn they’ll spot you as you spawn in and you’ll need to keep running to be able to fly reset
