Save up soul for his second phase
When he has two shields, it becomes so much harder to hit him normally. You can hit him with dash slash during that phase
When markoth does his shield spin, you can land so much hits on him. To get out of safely from his shield attack, use shade cloak
There's some cases where markoth uses his shield spin attack right near a platform, when he does that that's your change to hit him. He will be stuck on the platform
