Yeah it really depends on how aggressive you wanna be, if you're far away from him, I say jump and pogo, if you're close, dash through and follow him after. As for the tendrils, it gives enough time to either jump and dodge or just Ddark

Hey so can anyone help me I play on keyboard most of the time and it works fine on current patch and previous patch but when I try to downpatch to grimm troupe update for speedrunning my keyboard has insane input delay which makes no sense.

Idk what the issue is, but my thought process is that devs add some minor optimisations per patch, so the later the patch is, the smoother it will run on a comparatively low end pc

Turning off vsync can help otherwise you can play on LP which has it's own leaderboard. Or play with qol mod which is a category on the modding board.

If you're tryna speedrun, I'd say consistency over flashiness. And I see you're constantly wall jumping to the same wall to maintain the same height on the wall. Try spamming c dash input. Just tap it, not letting it charge and do it quickly, stalls you a lot on walls and helps for cycles

I wouldn't say so necessarily. Shade soul does really help, and running with it isn't a bad idea, however keep in mind if you plan on doing any stall balls afterwards, it's impossible with shade soul

So yeah, I'd say commit to it for a few runs, and once you feel like you've optimised the run with it, try without. The biggest fight is def WK, and just equipping shaman stone is enough to help with them and uumuu as well

If you want to improve your time then I would advice you to get debug mod to practice each room individually. Learning the cycles are really helpful.

Using the popular charmbuild:
Shamans stone, sharp shadow, dashmaster, sprintmaster, longnail and mark of pride. If you dont want to go overcharm you can remove longnail or dashmaster.

This is my run from 3 years ago which uses pretty safe strats for the most part.

Also you want to do the first fireball when your legs are in the middle of the apex of your jump and the platform. So a little after the apex.

If you want a decently fast way to deal with WK

But are willing to detour, getting Descending Dark is probably good enough

You'd have to do Soul Sanctum when you normally don't visit it, but you can get a spell that destroys them, get to fight them later on and potentially with one Nail Upgrade as well

Your time won't be super competitive but it's a reasonable way to get started in speedrunning

The fireb0rn 5 hour achievement route covers all of this
