Focus is basically an infinite buffer though, the game just checks if you're grounded, holding the button and have enough soul for if it should start the animation

Unsure of the exact numbers but shadesoul route deffinitly looses more time it's a bigger detour and more geo 800 compared to 250.
Shadesoul does however make a bigger impact on bosses.

Yes, but you still need to configure the auto splits. To match your splits. Look in the auto split settings.
Livesplit likes to delete them of the auto splitter isn't already on, so often its needed to re-download if you got them from hksplitmaker (if you didn't get them there, you have to set your own)

Convince the game you're still at a wall which you're not at and then don't lose it
Gate wcs the wall disappears as you start to cling it, transition wcs you keep the wall cling state in a transition and then spawn not at that wall but with its cling, and corner you just get a funny distance from a corner and you get wcs

Using livesplit may be misleading, since its the in game time the cheevo cares about. The cheevo isn't really a leader board speedrun so i don't know that there's splits for it on hksplitmaker but there is a guide for it pinned

You can get splits from the site in pins for moat categories & just import them into livesplit. If you have any problems join the pinned server and see the troubleshooting checklist pinned in the tech support channel
