only souls game I've played that I would say is a bit too "unfair" is DS2: Scholar of the First Sin.

and its solely because weapon durability is extremely low, you really cant afford to keep fighting enemies between bonfires in some areas without your weapon breaking

and with Scholar of the First Sin they put more enemies in the game for some reason

so you can be in an early area with a 60 durability sword, kill 3 normal enemies and now you have 51 durability. there are 30 more enemies to kill

im sure there are ways around that but its just so awkward
