Yeah for sure I agree with that about GP
But it’s weird thematically to portray him like that and then Karmelita as near death despite her being actually younger
Who tf is Karm again?
With Elderbug he’s supposed to be inexperienced and prejudiced despite his age it’s played off
Karm is played completely straight
Elderbug could be an elder for the common bug, not our HB and such creatures. Also, consider the fact that Seth may or may not have been the first and last Shrinekeeper, making him older than 90% of Pharloom. And nothing says this isn't possible either.
I’ll pull it up
Through their march, at the far border of these lowlands, seek the last queen of the ant hunters. We can sense her still... just.
In youth, her voice united the wild tribes. Gave them the strength to resist the pale monarch's will... longer than most at least.
She’s on the verge of death
And “longer than most” also fits with Khann’s “alone against the pale light”
I think that's just the haunting though. We know for a fact that Karmelita was the sole reason the Skarr could resist it (at first, also mottled Skarr I guess, but they got the racism now instead). So why would she also have opposed GMS pre-citadel?
Aggressive warrior tribe with large swath of territory suddenly has to deal with a higher being
Just like the mantises
Maybe, especially given her size. I doubt she could sustain herself without assistance, when food is scarce as a result of an apocalypse.
She's old as hell and very mortal. She's old, right?
At least as old as the current ant tribe
She's old, but we don't know how old. Her youth seemingly took place during the haunting, so she shouldn't be much older than Hornet.
Then again, she is a common bug, so who knows?
Common bug potentially as old as Hornet? Yeah, she's probably just really old.
After all, Hornet did outlive several of her mates (lover creatures).
Yeah, and I doubt the haunted skarr are doing a good job at that, especially when theres also no way to keep the food from Rotting and void silk Now
im back yall
Funnily enough, the Green Prince is either older than Karmelita or she existed from the beginning of the citadel, anywhere pre-conducters.
Hello
Green prince isnt old because of the benefits of a vegan diet
(This message is sponsored by peta, learn more on murder.com)
actually yeah karmelita's peak was at earliest during the stone citadel
cause she has silkflies in her arena
wait were figuring out how old is karmelita?
well we know so far karmelita was at her peak during the expansion of the citidal
she could keep away gms
while not being a HB
Silkflies where Conductors age, after all the Weavers had left or died.
GMS ≠ Citadel
false
The state what you believe is the truth.
to attack the kingdom
weavers literally created the silk syphon, along with the rest of whiteward
The haunting refers to GMS using her powers while asleep, which happened after and during the Conductors age.
also to make sure all bugs age differntly right i know its a dumb question but yeah
oh ok
Do you have a source to that?
Weavers created silkflies but conductor-era architects used them in cogwork creations
Besides the Sentinels which were weaver era and may or may not have silkflies
But they have a different design compared to cogworks
Wait during the timeline when is the conductors age are we currently in that era with hornet or was this when the citadel was being expanded to other areas
its covered in weaver runes, very obviously weaver tech
Sentinels where Architect time, which was Conductor's age. So that doesn't quite add up. The only automaton that might have been created during the Weaver-Conductor transition would be the (something)Maidens.
EDIT: Clawmaidens don't use silk flies iirc.
Clawmaidens?
I see what you mean
But the architects have Weaver directives
The system of conductor architecture vaultkeeper existed under the weavers they were just subservient
The first architect created the sentinels in weaver times
That doesn't mean the entirety of the Whiteward was their idea, neither does it mean that it always had the same purpose. Sure, they definitely messed around with silk, but I doubt they would be so stupid as to directly give GMS control.
The silk flies have the main purpose of guiding pilgrims to Pharloom, they just also happen to be viable in architecture, automatons and silken manipulation magic stuff (whatever it is called when they guide you in the Mist and when one frees Hornet at the very start of the game.)
source that it has a different use than turning people into silkflies
The silk siphon is of weaver make
whiteward and silkflies were weaver plans/creations
The Whiteward was meant to create silkflies to guide pilgrims up in a time where the citadel was more austere under Weavers and the pilgrimage was less widespread
The Weaver age and the Conductor age obviously had to have a transition, since politics can't change in one single instance.
However the advancements didn't all come at once. Ias Pisamor seems the earliest version of a fully (once) functional automaton, which later was redesigned for both the Architect's melody, the Threefold melody and the Religious Capitalism Automaton in the Underworks.
Later weavers discovered the silkflies could animate some robots as well
Way later than that the architects used it en masse to make all the cogworks
And after that Whiteward was repurposed for the immortality surgeries
I meant silkflies having different uses. Source:
-Fourth Chorus death
-Lanterns
-The Mist
-First Lace fight
-Automaton defeating animation
-First cutscene
-some dialogue saying "be the light to guide" or something
They do
they literally are shown to have silkflies wdym
When exactly?
literally in the second sentinel boss fight room
we see silkflies near the corpses of the fallen sentinels
Okay, and the Silkflies?
"That doesn't mean the entirety of the Whiteward was their idea, neither does it mean that it always had the same purpose"
I probably didn't notice it, do you have a picture?
and mind you we only ever get to see them next to lace, as lanterns or next to automatons
?
And in the mists
this is what you said when talking about whiteward and the silk syphon
ok i think thats a good theory
Because they somehow fucked up so bad in being a lamp they got sent to the waste mamagement facility
i mean it works
I know, but what are you trying to prove?
"I meant silkflies having different uses."
the silkflies seems to be a form of energy or light in this world
whiteward being weaver creation
and the bugs in the white ward
helll yeah
Silk Siphon was definitely made when the Weavers were here, I agree
well yeah soul nautral gives some light
and silkflies are just
that in a weird way
hard to explain it
so wait or silkflies basicaly just souls turned into flies
oh kinda
like lace think about it
the pilgrims
it's the soul of the pilgrims
yeah its kinda like lace
turned into flies
souls of pilgrims
Why did they need to turn them into flies wouldnt it be easier to use a bug that cant fly
Are the whiteward is stupid
to "serve the citadel truly eternally"
maybe they saw what lace could do and experimented on regular pilgrims
first image is weavenest murglin, second is the whiteward
it was for bugs that were of old age
Ok?
to make it so they coul for eternity serve the citadel
My understanding is that the Silkflies were created from the Silk within a bug, imbued with the Soul of the same bug
I was asking why make them into flies instead of a different being
ok i see why they picked old bugs to make it not look suspicious when they are gone
why not?
Flies fly Away, thats not a very simple thing to manage when you dont
Makes em work better as guides
Might've taken inspiration from gleamflies or lumaflies
but i think they saw what happned with lace and tried to make regular pilgrims purely silk based and we can see this in white ward with some beings almost interely made of silk on their faces and such
they are made of the brainwashed souls of pilgrims who gladly served the citadel their whole lives
The silk syphon isn't used to put silk into the bugs, otherwise the layout of the Whiteward would contradict it. The silkflies were referring to the use of the syphon, the rest of the Whiteward isn't even confirmed to be the idea of the Weavers. Specifically, the "making mortality illegal".
Of course I'd be happy to see if I am wrong in this regard, given you can give me proof of any kind.
(I also had a disturbtion so I sent this message far later)
Every silkfly leaves immediately the second they can
You mean the Dreg enemies?
are thos the ones with silk faces that kinda like become tentacles kinda
if so yes
Dreg enemies are just haunted corpses, they weren't explicitly created to look like that by the Whiteward
ohhhhhhhh
Silk dregs haunting hollowed-out husks
the silk syphon turns bugs into silkflies
Why does gms even haunt pieces of bug husks your standards cant possibly be that low
but i still think they tried to something similar to how lace was made and it didnt work
Pale Beings really love devotion
eva
i mean she wants as much control as possible
wha
“A bug who serves must never die” likely refers to siphoning the silk from a bug and turning it into a silkfly so it can serve the citadel further by guiding other pilgrims up
artificial life made of silk
Which would have been a Weaver era motive, as it was the conductors who transformed the citadel into a place of worship in and of itself and popularized the pilgrimage
isn't that what I sad ;-;
So you wouldnt need guides
Methinks the Soul of the bug is extracted as well, or at least some part of it
or did I not say that clear enough
Yeah pretty much
that sounds like war propaganda bro...
that's I literally just said that too above
How would extract silk without extracting soul
Weaver era you needed silkflies to guide pilgrims and sentinels to accompany them
Conductor era the pilgrimage is just a thing people do
is what I'm saying not conveyed well enough or smth
the sentinels forcefully took bugs outside the citadel?
they didn't really accompany them
they brought them in forcefully
"A gleaming order, cogwork sentinels, so impressive-majestic in function they were charged-b-b-bound to the highest holy duty.
Long before the c-c-creation of the core, the sentinels ventured, even beyond these walls, to see all bugs brought-forced safe to serve the Citadel."
yeah
that proves my point
i mean they can take the silk inside of the dead bodies and not the soul
“brought forced”
i think that’s kidnapping
that
is what I was trying to say yes
Thats a stretch ngl
Cremation and subsequent extraction, the Soul still lingers on in the threads of course but the Silk Siphon is likely an intentional extraction of Soul vs. an unintentional perpetuation of the Soul through the extracted Silk
that is not
that’s what the dialogue says my gal
:D
Must've missed it, I showed up recently so that might be why, mb
the citadel just be doing what they want bro
How did the citadel get control over most of pharloom legally
bro
who says it was legally
omg true
Slab flies go to far fields thats skarr territory
Legal control
it was illegal
The Citadel has access to Silk, that's pretty big
i was about to say maybe the weavers travelled with gms and found some area and over time became stronger than the other nations and took them over but nope
More like the silk accumulating to form rage from the endless torture the bugs endured. The haunting mostly has bugs following their given tasks and primal instincts, with an added aggression towards non-haunted bugs.
However being a headless beast isn't really a job or anything, so it definitely doesn't match the haunting.
Instead I theorize that it is the very silk that is enraged. Silk is Soul, which is the energy of most life. GMS is comprised almost entirely of silk, except for her bronze parts.
The theory is that enough silk came together to form a very simple form of life, one going by only raw emotions and instinct. As a result of the practices occuring within the Whiteward, pain, rage and hatred formed within the silken mass. The silken mass in question is the Unravelled. All the dreg husks are part of it, acting as a hivemind. The heart of the hivemind is the silk heart that came of all of this.
The rage also might have been related to GMS's anger, though I don't remember the silk heart dialogue. Anyways, it definitely is somewhat related to her too.
they just be doing what they want
So no wonder they could subjugate the whole place
the citadel wiped out every opposing government
And Silk played a massive role in that
wait gms is made of pure silk?
no
I think it mostly refers to the failed attempt at immortality, by infusing silk (which is literal life energy) into bugs.
oh ok
yes?
i mean she has some weird metal parts but she’s still silk
Almost, except for the bronze parts.
ah ok
How does the citadel have legal power on far fields which is skarr territory
But the conductors aren’t the ones serving
ok wait are the silkflies pure silk?
Yes
And the haunted surgeons aren’t serving either
The Conductors weren't the only bugs infused with silk.
hmm so i think my theory is right i just have to change it slightly
Yes but that wasn’t in an effort to make eternal helpers they already had robots for that
I shouldn't have said "haunting" there, my bad. A better word would've been puppeting. I agree with all of this though, there's a shitload of anguish lingering in these threads
Surgeon is a job, so they definitely are. By definition.
The conductor silk experiments were to make themselves immortal
They definitely aren’t serving after they got injected with silk
ive discussed this extensively before, with all the oddities of binding, but i dont think gms is made of silk
her hair stuff certainly is, and she has a layer wrapped over herself
Robots require each silkfly being put in individually, in addition to the fact that they aren't mass produced. Essentially they would take ages to accumulate enough, to the point that pilgrims, Judges and the Choir become pointless.
but she appears to have a shell underneath that
wym, we see her dissolve into silk during the binding sequence
what shell? the blsck part?
lace has that too and she is also pure silk
everything you bind turns into silk\
The Silkflies were created through experimentation and were made with the goal of making beings who are like Lace and GMS but instead of making a completely new soul they used the souls of elderly pilgrims and the closest they could get to GMS and Lace is the Silkflies.
do you think the beastfly ancestor we bind is a pure silk being?
thats my tehory
Not really, it’s absorbed
GMS literally started to unravel during the bind animation, seen nowhere else in other binds
not what i’m talking about
I don't follow. They serve (as Surgeons). Other Bugs serve as guards. The silk they get infused with only strengthens them and increases their lifespan, while also making them vulnerable to haunting. Additionally the silk can easily outlive the body organically, where the body can no longer function due to age.
no i think we bind what is left of its soul
each bind unravels her more and more, unlinke other times when the creature stays perfectly intact until it’s completed and it vanishes
The silk they get infused with definitely does not do that lol
It makes them manic and crazed, with Ballador it made him reliant on silk and decrepit with Mizello he died
the entire body dissapears
I don’t know what you’re getting at
Silk absolutely extends a bug's lifespan
Not in a meaningful way
In a hollow sense sure
The silk siphon is visibly weaver tech
As much as I respect your arguments, Weaver Queen ending literally gives us an animation of her fading into strings of silk. In that animation, her bronze part break off too.
Besides Lace being confirmed 100% pure silk, and also having dark and white colour. So the colour isn't a problem either.
Lastly, the abyss escape after LL proves my point once again.
but yes, this is all silk
no shell in sight
The black part stays pretty consistent
there is a corpse left behind in the abyss escape
well thats interesting maybe it got burned away or something idk wait dont we bind the evil spider in bellheart or whatever the town is called? and dont they do the same thing maybe what is happening is hornet is kinda like the knight they can consume a entire beings soul and abalities but only if they are weak
her face? her face is definitely silk
and it doesn’t, it starts to unravel like phantoms on the side, compare the bottom left one to one of the ones where hornet is binding
That is literally the entire point of all this silk being required.
If you need more evidence, we clearly see bugs being operated on WITHOUT the syphon. And what other operations were there? And what is the Unravelled then?
The sides are covered by hair
so youre arguing she always has that look? i’m pretty positive i can find a sprite that shows that side of her head and it looks smooth
The thing that looks identical to a Wraith, which again, 100% made of silk.
@dire lynx did you see my response
If it was passed down to her child I dont see why it wouldnt look like that
yup, when she binds widow nothing is left behind there either
phantom is unraveled, she looks like that because she doesn’t have enough silk
that’s the whole point
(Supporting your comment)
Again, Lace is CONFIRMED 100% made of silk, and she has the black and white parts. Now connect the dots.
yeah i think hornet has the same abalities as the knight to some form
pretty sure hornet literally calls her frayed
Hornet doesn't absorb all of the Silk from GMS to enable her jump, just a massive amount of it. GMS is visibly damaged as Hornet begins to ascend, and gets blown away from the force of the jump. She's still there, but she's not long for this world
Shes Rotting not unravelling
what
Unravelled may be misleading, more so frayed or frail.
why would she not take everything, that makes no sense
same difference, she is fraying without silk
She doesn't need it all, she just needs enough to escape in a timely manner
Silk can't really rot, she's just loosing it over time. Basically starving.
Or at least, she didn't think she needed it all
she literally only escapes because of the interference of the knight
Weaver Queen ending, Hornet prolly also can't hold that much at once otherwise.
Why would the shape stay the same on Phantom and gms if one is losing silk slowly and one is being ripped out from her body
so i think hornet has the knights abalities but weaker and i also think if this is true either hornet is burning away the body to extract the soul orrrrrrrrrr the knight and hornet can consume solid forms not just souls but hornet cant control it like the knight
Addressed that in the second message
they are both losing silk…
That's a because of the flower, not the silk.
Also true
i dont think hornet is stupid enough to put things to chance like this
The cocoon is actively collapsing around them
She can't afford to stick around for longer than necessary
What about the greyer silk that doesnt give soul in silkeater rooms
topic?
so what do we think? @dire lynx
Is gms 100% silk and another thing
there was barely anything left of the body, it wouldnt take that long to absorb the rest if it was all silk
Lace was given more silk by GMS, unlike Phantom. GMS either doesn't have to sustain herself (Weaver Queen she is bound, not absorbed into just silk, Sister of the Void she is severly weakened) likely HB stuff. She could also use soul to produce more, which isn't out of the question for a HB to do.
There was about half of a body left
probably 100% silk yeah
Dust? Silk that is actual silk and not soul spun to thread?
i mean all that’s left is some strands, and they’re blown away
idk why hornet not just eating her then and there makes you think it’s not all silk
she got all the silk she could hold and dipped
anymore you have another weaver queen
the other being is the beastfly ancestor we consume to gain the hunters creast
The grey part of Phantom is just silk getting thinner. Black silk is the most dense, from there it gets lighter (whiter).
i think i have a theory for it
Why would there just be soulless silk producing bugs in the cradle
theres just about nothing left
Soulless silk as in, silk you can find in real life.
this is what i put as my theory
Yes
There's as much left of her as a wraith.
The lower part of her body is left, not very visible but it's there
wait guys are wraiths silksflies who are basically close to pilgrim but this made them hostile?
Nevermind, I misread the question. Idk, Ari Gibson just thought it looked cool I supposed. Why are there randomass corpses with Wyrm size, that are not Wyrms and comletely irrelevant?
wraiths are extensions of phantom's will
the other issue aside from the binding stuff is just that shes never actually called a being of silk, every other example is very obviously or directly called out
wraiths are projections of phantoms will
Also, GMS is the one holding the cocoon up. If Hornet absorbs the entirety of GMS, would she even be able to Silk Soar? Would she be willing to risk that?
oh ok thank you
even in the journal shes only called the source of silk
Why does phantom not want someone to come through the mists if she wants to die in battle?
she wants to challenge them and only bring the best fighter
in this case hornet
If they can't make it to her in the first place, they're not that strong
what i said but smarter
i tho k that’s kinda redundant honestly to have her called thst
i mean, use your eyes the game doesn’t need to spell out everything
Lace and Phantom are specifically children of her and at first glance aren’t really distinguishable as a being made of silk
GMS is a giant yarn ball with silk hair
No?
They aren't specifid what the are, except for "the form of another":
-shape of Phantom
-no manipulation through needolin (unlike silkflies)
-needolin dialogue projects someones thoughts
-Located in the mist of the exhaust organ, which is likely used for filtering silk and waste, the silk being caught in Greymoor.
What even is the point of the mists room in sinners road
Its not there for any practical reason we can see
But workers went there
For some reason
Read the message directly above yours.
lace and phantom are beings she made, no more her actual childeren than the architects are the childeren of the weavers
thanks and bobbit already helped me fix what i said but thank you for the info
or eva
They share the same matter, so they are at the very least organically related.
well yes, but they’re still basically her children as much as she can have them
Why would the roach caring bugs go there
Got lost, probably
circular reasoning
or a child made of spells and iron
she is the source of silk
how is thst circular
it’s literally just logic
Might've been headed to Wendy's Lugoli's but took a wrong turn somewhere
shes made of silk because lace is her child, lace is her child because shes made of silk
The bodies we see are 3 feet away from the exit
Have you revisited the Mist room after killing Phantom
well yea if you dumb down an argument and ignore what i say it does sound stupid
yeah?
Because they got lost, since the Mist expanded throughout Sinner's Road. The most likely conclusion is that the rooms in the Mist still exist, we just don't travel them since they are in the background (useless). The bugs could have been there when the mist expanded or just gotten lost and not found their way out.
Room's pretty damn small
And it lies directly underneath the obstacles above
Lace is made of silk because she fucking says so.
Whenever Hornet falls down into mist, she winds up at the start
the second she is in reference to gms
Or if she takes too many wrong exits
until all the silk is unravelled in the abyss and we see her whole body is black underneath
she’s soaked with void
If they look the exact same, they may be the same. Besides the other evidence which you can't disprove in any way.
then why is there still white thread on her body
phantom has a black body
it’s a little something called contrast, they serve as the “chains” holding her up
Everything that gets black-threaded becomes visibly blackened. A being made entirely of thread would turn black completely
Why would they go to that obstacle course theres nothing outside the sewage facility at the top
Black silk is just normal silk being very dense. Hence Phantom is grey (silk getting thinner) and the outer, thinner layers are white.
“why do siblings have white eyes if they are all void”
They didn't intend to go to those hazards, they got lost
contrast is an important character design
the white threads wrapped around her body, not the hair she is hanging from
I second this, black body isn't always void, etc.
Why is there even a room there which was open to sinners road bugs if its meant to be a dumping site
Read my message
once again, contrast
she is on an all black background
Cause the citadel doesn't give a shit, frankly
Wrapping is for structure, perhaps
Lumbar support
guys is GMS made of void and silk? or is that just black silk
black silk
ok thank you
who is saying shes void?
Honestly my best theory is the sinners road bugs are just masochistic enough to just go to a random room, build an obstacle course and just keep doing it until they died
no i just saw the black silk and thought it was weird and asked
The actual answer:
Silk gets darker the more dense it is, hence the inner layers of these creatures is black, while the outer ones are white. Phantom is grey(ing) due to lacking silk and slowly fading away. Hence her silk is getting thinner continueesly.
@keen narwhal about the black silk.
no other reason
ngl that sounds right
oh ok
thank you
The "obstacles" are just traps for the Roaches and mites.
Theres no roaches there
Not anymore.
Because the Mist isn't very habitable.
also parkouring on spikes is so dumb no wonder all the roaches died
Theres a roach keeper right at the entrance
also the roaches in my opinion could have become great pets
if they wernt treated as only food
and let run wild
they are all just rabid dogs
Yes, another reason why I'm correct. The Mist expanded over Sinner's Road (parts that we later don't see), therefore having traps of Sinner's Road all throughout.
Theres not even Space to breed roaches in the mists room
Aren't there empty cages as part of the structures?
true but they have differnt areas we do the cages and such
see the cages*
Why would you need more space for them in that room half the area is cages
Reminds me of this. Though the Flintslate Bomber guy is missing.
becuase they reproduce fast
me is worst then larry
They have to feed all of Greymoor and Sinner's Road btw.
Theres roach farms going all the way into the middle of bilewater
"The way into the middle of Bilewater"
This is where the Mist is located my guy.
There was a different entrance to bilewater in there
yeah they need water to raise the babies and then they catch them in bile water and probably keep them there or ship them to hells road or whats it called
what do we think bile water looked like before the citadel basically did what is happening to oceans
We need Sea of Sorrow soon, why the fuck are we even in need of discussing how the Muckroaches are bred?
ay they asked
yo bile water sea of sorrows i see a connection
bile water has a lot of sorrow
and it’s a sea
what would teh water in bile water taste like
Really bad
Salty sewage
By the way, thoughts on the Biology under the clothes, by an immaculate Reddit user I forgot the name of ?
Their question was:
"Why do the other Stilking look so different from Groal"
Including some theorizing regarding the relation between Stilking and the Pintress Order.
pickle muckmaggot smoothie
when i think bile i think stomach juices
With a hint of dead maggot
yeah
alive, no?
Worse, alive maggot.
Both
good god
An entire one too
yooooooooooo
thst is indeed what it is
Anyways, thoughts? @near jasper
indeed
Yeah its me
We need more enemies to discuss the taste off
Release sos
Karakpeople
i mean he most likely is the leader an dthats why he is bigger he eats a ton more
Light crustnut taste
He ate a Vengefull spirit.
so yeah thats how he got big
booom
thats why he is differnt
we know soul bloats, so makes sense
Except for silkeaters
my theory is right hip hip hooray
they are bloated
Well it only bloats if used incorrectly or by common beings.
have you seen them
Theyre grub shaped
well i think tehy are bloated
Silk has slightly different properties.
Idk
I kinda want to send something cursed now.
that would look cool
no one knows
or terrifying
Maybe they are adults
im think a giant fly
they’re called grubs iirc
maybe but if they arnt im thinking they look like giant flies
Isn’t there adult grubs?
grub by definition is a larval stage
and like they are bloated
Grub by definition isnt an adult
yes
Oh, ok
so they could grow into a giant bloated fly who spits silk
Don't exist? Biology goes by name, not by logic. grub->Grubberfly, Maggot->nothing, Muckmaggot-> Muckroach, Silkeater->nothing, nothing->Moth, etc.
@near jasper
Their adult form have to be silkrelated tho
true
Team Cherry don't give a shit though.
yeah biology isnt a concern in hollow knight
Gms is the pale version of a silkeater Queen thats full grown
team cherry dont give a damn about bug biology we should know this when they gave roaches bones
but still this is a theory
yep
i mean, they haven’t been wrong with the other grubs
they were also larvae, no reason to think otherwise
Roach lore is really cool though
Like theres atleast 4 entries related to them
Great misinformation for the new players to be honest.
And gemini
but yeah i think they grow into giant flies who are bloated and cant fly and spit silk
Noot noot
gurr in HK???
damn bro finding secrets alk these years later
Nectar (alcohole)
Let's be real, they don't do anything until Hornet decides to have a snack.
Mate
tre
Do we think the silkeaters and maggots cone from the same ancestor
They are not simular att all
they are entirelyy differnt species
Maggots are these guys
yeah but this happens in evolution
Muckmaggots
Yk what I meant
Muchroaches depend on quantity and silkeaters depend on quality by small amounts of spawn
in evolution sometimes things evolve from the same ancestor and look entirely differnt
but again is hollow knight
and team cherry
they dont give a damn
Small amounts of Spawns doesnt really make sense if they have queens, no?
Wonder how muchroaches looked pre citadel
Do they?
Yeah. Anyways, the answer is no. If you want to know biology in HK, design is more telling than name.
I am convinced Xero and Garro are Karak, and that the Fury of the Fallen came from Revek.
Yes
probably the same
Queens egg delivery
they would look more clean in my opinion becuase there is less slop and bile
except for the bloated muckroaches in bilewater
Yeah, forgot about that one
they would probably be more calm as well
Probably non-existent, since they are an invasive species caused by pollution.
ah yeah
Bellveins are the weirdest thing in Silksong
But they had to evolve from something
i think a regular roach
Wasn’t bells made to lure pilgrims to the citadel
and maybe they are like rabbits they reproduce at fast rates to survive the bile
Bellways werent allowed for pilgrims
and now they over populate in sinners road
I meant the actual bellveins
I dont know why youd need literally tens of millions of bells to lure pilgrims then
Cant make sense of that too
maybe bells are part of the religion?
But seems most resonable of a explanation
yeah they are used to show protection and safety actually
Ig, deep docks uses them to ward off heay
the bell in the citidal where we meet that snail dude thats a safety place
*heat
Greediness is one of the most defining traits of the citadel why did they spend millions in making bells to throw into holes
thatt to but they shaped it that way for religious reasons as well
Also what were the bellveins before the bells
look at what i said
Was half of pharloom empty tunnels
the bells are originally used to symbolize protection and safety
Ok so, I need an explanation, are all the HK endings cannon? Or silksong happen after some specifics? Cause the Hollow Knight (The vessel) "survived" in some endings but never appears again
i dont think so look at the bell beasts
They follow different stages of life, so they probably looked like the Muckmaggots and Muckroaches do. Their habitat would be exculsively Bilewater and they'd be far less aggressive, due to not lacking food and being part of a sustainable ecosystem. They might've even tasted quite good, considering they wouldn't be polluted bags of scum.
Their colour would have possibly changed to fit the environment, more green and overall darker.
Since they do come from pollution, they might've been from somewhere else completely. The water goes through the High Halls, Underworks, and much more, so there isn't quite a limit to the possibility of origin.
Why make tens of millions to throw into pits
Nothing about the bellveins make sense when you think about it
Not all of them are canon to Silksong
to maybe ward off the giant worm who eats the bell beasts?
The Bellveins were dug for the Citadel Bugs to use, being filled with bells so to passively produce sound.
Makes sense
To lure pilgrims?
Why did they care about bellbeasts
Theyre just random bugs
The sounds are just another way of pissing off GMS with song.
How is an animal running through thousands of bells while a person is on top of them safer than ventricas
Makes sense, I only wish the Vessel to appear on the next DLCs, he deserves some happiness
Seems kind of a stretch but sure
Theyll be killed in a fakeout in the pantheon dlc with beastfly to make people mad 👍
Maybe:
The Bell Beasts migrated after the haunting, when the Bellways were devoid of the citadel bugs that once passed through.
The Belleater is just a random giant that got its name from eating bells to dig through the ground.
Also doesn’t make sense how the bellbeasts animation shows a hollow cave of bells
How did the citadel bugs pass through
Bells being used to make sounds (song) are confirmed to be a part of keeping GMS asleep. Hence the Citadel of Song.
But how does the song reach GMS
Its thousands of pounds of metal on you
Oh jesus lord please I'm begging him to appear and, I don't know, farm some aura and live peaceful
That the thing i can’t wrap my head around
They walked. According to Sherma carrying golden carriages, basically meaning they used the veins to carry cages to the citadel.
the bell beasts helped with transportation we only fought the bell beast to comfort it in canon our attacks on the bell beats are the equivalent of petting a animal we did that to help the bell beasts do transportation better and to keep the giant worm who eats bell beasts away
thats my theory
Walking throughs millions of shaky metal bells cannot be safer than ventricas
i mean the bell beasts know how to manuever through it so its more ffeicent
Remember that ventricas got people killed too
and the citadel doesnt give a flying f about safety
yep
they care about effecientcy
and power not safety
They acually care about not killing their limited stock of servants
its only becuase of the bell beast they can do that
yes but the bells dont kill as much as what ever the other option was called
how
and live
Imma go now, bye!
Bai
becuase the bell beast know the safest ways around the bell ways
byeeeeeeeeeeee see you later
bye
Why are there even bellways the tunnels were already there build elevators with that money
actually I wouldve felt safer on top of a bellbeast than it those ventricas
yes what i said
what i personally feel too
they bell beast has the most efficient ways to move around the bells and safest it doesnt want to die either
but just maybe they could've had some inprovements with like saddle or something
the bells beast are saftey as i have said and more effieceint and also think about the bell beast eatting worm it will destroy that area
just to make it a bit more comfortable
yes but i also think the bell beast we find is a wild one
so it doesnt have a saddle
Ngl bell eater is really weird
it is and it should die for touching the puppies
have never reconsiderd that before
should we make all the bell eaters go extinct
Like theres an australian sized centipede in the road so we hope it doesnt wake up and our gps doesnt send us into it
seem kinda useless to everyone
sigh true
ay ngl that would be terrible
The bell eater just chilled asleep while an animal was digging out tunnels around his body and going through them multiple times
But they notice hornet instantly in act 3
well gotta go now, nice lore session everyone
they noticed the bell beasts and we went in the bell eaters path
and boom free snack
while i get my meal
The bell eater constrained the bell beast from rising to every single bellway in the kingdom
Please team cherry, bring the Hollow Knight/Vessel as a partner in a future DLC and make him move to Stardew valley and become a farmer in peace
How fucking big is it
yeah they were circling them kinda like a wolf
Bell eater is like 20 wyrms long
yeah
they big
and they have claws to tear through bell beast armor as well the perfect hunter
they are long enough to circle and corner a bell beast and strong enough to get to the insides
truly a disgusting vile creature
Its implied they can hear you try to call Bell beast from across all of pharloom
maybe they have sensitive ears?
They live in bells
or maybe the bell beast is trying to run to your voice for safety
true new theory
maybe the bell beast is running to you and the bell eater goes to that area as well
and hears your voice
and boom
It cannot be that quick
bro have you seen bell beast
Yes she has tunnels through there
why woudnt the bell eater be as fast or even faster?
and the bell eater can use them as well
Bell eater is just sprinting
the bell eater is just following bell beast through the tunnels bell beast has made
and then bell beast wants you to save them and they cant escape
becuase bell eater cut them off
Also there is an extremely concerning implication in their needolin
We must... feed...
who the bell eater?
Yea
if they say that then that means they must eat obv they are hungry as hell
We means either theyre pregnant or caring for more bell eaters
but wait the we
oh true
either that or they talk in we
i mean french
also if the bell eater is pregnant imagine how fast and strong is a bell eater who isnt
Exactly
oh and also iven if they arnt preganant they would most likely hold back to not get killed
also i think if we tamed the bell eater as well we would have a bus or like a train and bell beasts would be more like a car in the hollow knight universe which would be interesting
is pharloom older than hallownest
welll yes
becuase the spiders already became sentient
before hallownest
so yeah
the spiders made pharloom and then left pharloom after GMS was exploiting them
is there any chance that herrah could be atla?
First Sinner is most likely Atla
atla is a being who was made like lace
you're thinking of Eva
that's eva
she just happens to be in Weavenest Atla
eva
yeah that proves my points that place was made to keep eva safe
so no she would most likely be in the giant city above
me
no i think that they just locked them there because they were too fragile
yo whats up cloride
yes and so no one else was in there to keep eva safe to
Weavenest Atla was made as a place to create tools and shit to overthrow GMS once and for all
so more evedencce
yes and it didnt work
Eva was made in that process, then sealed away because she was deemed a failure by the Weavers
and eva was ealed there to be protected
yep
ohh yeah
the weavers tried to do a being at the same level as lace
but they failed and got ashamed of it
that's why she's so well hidden
so thank you frito this helps prove how herrah isnt from atla but may have helped in atla
yep
its kinda sad ngl
but it was best for eva
better than being dead tho :/
So these are all contents in bug world. I hope I don't get them wrong
Soul: Essential matter for all living beings.
Essence: As name suggests it is the essence of the metaphysical/ideal forms.
Light: Power that opposes the void. Mostly serves same role as light.
Void: A sentient substance with a mind of its own. Embodiment destruction.
i think you should send these in the hk lore
isnt eva just pure soul
pure silk
oh
yeah pure silk
Doesn't matter really
how does she talk
basically just solid soul
What is pure soul?
idk
I keep hearing it
soul
just soul
the essence you get from attacking a enemy
and the silk you get from attacking a enemy
Life force.
yeah
how do you guys think sandsea wastes would look
whats that?
a part of the wastes
is that the area that leads out of pharloom
A sea of sand.
yeah its said that a weaver was captured from there
ok
I fucking hate sand. Its course, rough, irritating and gets everywhere.
i need it cuz im making a mod that adds it and steel city
well just sand and maybe corpeses
Weaver descendant*
oh
Either in one eight or one fourth part.
is sea of sorrow going to focus on the pharloom bay?
yeah i think it would be a giant desert full of corpses here and there
maybe
it does have some corralation
im thinking the sea of sorrow is like the pantheon
we can go into the past possibly
it wouldn't make sense imo
i think pharloom bay is just the start of sea of sorrow then you go through a water area and finally a boss at lifeblood spire
they should probably add all bosses first (dlc)
yeah maybe in another dlc
and just then make a godmaster-like dlc
godmaster dlc would be the last one
yeah
yeah
i feel like you would find the godseeker either on the surface or in the pale lake
silkmaster ia ia a yeye yeye
talking about the godseeker
but you would need elegy to get into its dream
the beggining part of the nameless town
is like exactly equal to the secret area when using dream nail on the godseeker
like not exactly
but it maybe proves that godseeker came from pharloom or from another kingdom and then rested at pharloon
pharloom*
because it talks about coming from far far away
Land of Storms.
its probably pre haunting as she doesnt detect gms
Gods*
and they try to find new gods to worship
🤯
yes i think they were 2 centepedes
yep
thats why they are called the god seekers
why the hell would gruz mother be a god 💔 🥀
they must find a new god
werent they the gods of thunder or something
God to them isn't what God means to us.
i think not
it's a joke
well i think she is a god of birth
and fertility
yeah makes sense
but then the brooding mother would be equal
Godsimper talk? What's the topic?
i think there canbe more than one god of a aspect
something about dlc
and possible godseeker dlc
ideas
for sk
-# especially when they aren't actual Higher Beings
yes
sIlKsEeKeR
they dont really count as higher beings
MOTHERSEEKER
oh god
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
sorry hornet im seeking out your mother
do you think sandsea waste would just be a orange version of this
I really don't want another Godseeker honestly
yeah
but corpses
ad stuff
yeah but in my opinion its great i can fight my favorite bosses ove rand over
i dont want to make a new save file to fight a boss
RadHoG...
who dat
Radiant Hall of Gods.
oh ye that would be pain in silksong
I don't mean that
I don't mind a Boss Rush DLC
I just don't want the Godseekers back
i think instead of ascended and radiant there would be voided and silken (silken being radiant)
oh well no gods seekers can work
i have a theory with the sea of sorrows making us go back in time
maybe
its ai :/ just used it for reference ill make the sprites now
but i think it wont be the godseeker cause the godseeker already was in pharloom
aw man
in the tuner memory
yeah
Bro do weavers have beautiful voices by bug standarts?
Its just "BLAAAAUUGHHH"
oh true
true i think that would be cool
I think it's just the Pharloom accent. Hornet has a nice voice.
sherma who is a normal pilgrim can sing way better, and karmelita and shakra are really good at singing
imagine if we stab into its body and play a elegy on it
yeah actually true
what we did to gms
yeah
i think its a weaver accent
that is what i took inspo from
yep probably a accent
Instead of Elagy of the Deep it should be Crescendo of the Fallen.
How do they even put gms to sleep with that voice 😭
If this was my alarm I would make sure to wake up before it
i mean everyone their except for sherma has that kinda voice
cuz nobody is really from pharloom everyone is a bug from a different place that just happened to become pharloom
maybe sherma isnt native to pharloom
the choir did that
guysssssssss
and the choir actually can sing decently
i assume most pilgrims arent
what if sherma isnt from pharloom and thats why he doesnt have a voice like evryone else either that orrrrrrrrrrr sherma was tuaght by somebody who is from the choir
wait are the only people actually native to pharloom the weavers because "pharloom" is basically just a construct of a bunch of tribes
and thats why he sounds so good when singing compared to what we usually hear
sherma just has aura trust
I guess hallownest is no different in that regard. Some of the regions there don't even recognise PK's authority to begin with.
im back
Kingdom*
imagine having a sherma boss equal to lvl 10 zote
They likely recognize his authority over his Kingdom's, but they don't view him as their ruler.
bro sherma is the zote of pharloom prove me wrong
meh because the pale king basically created everything that other tribes didnt own (forgotten crossroads, city of tears) and he never forced any tribe to actually join him
zote doesnt get scared doesnt have eyes and has a life ender
bro that would go crazy but also sherma is against that he doesnt fight he just sings to everything dangerous
Except Queen's Garden
oh true but he does have the ablaities of zote he just hasnt learned yet
Soul Amount
She glows.
i think the void was instead feeding on her soul body
I still don't know what is WL's purpose as a hb to begin with
that stuff too
i assume that was part of greenpath that unn gave to the pale king, and the infected mantises went there after it was established
Let's not talk about WL before I wanna burn her existance
also how crazy would a zote and sherma band be
No, Greenpath gave nothing to the King
Something something everbloom
prove it
Nah It wasn't
Greenpath is an area west of the Forgotten Crossroads with lush vegetation, guarded by a species of leafy bug. Pools of burning acid and thick overgrowth make navigation difficult.
Music
Ambience 1 - Greenpath (Atmos Loop)
Ambience 2 - (Cave Noises)

Main + Action - Greenpath (Action)
wow thank you robot
"Those who stray from the White King's roads shall face the law of Unn."
what is the law of unn?
They allowed him to build roads among them as a sightseeing trip
Death
Though once our lands, a pale being lays claim to the caverns ahead.
It may appear benevolent but it does not share our dream.
Be wary to wander that place.
ah i see
no insulting unn here
Wl basically annexed that part for her isolation
she is the goat
Unn allowed PK because, I mean, He didn't do anything wrong
WL is the goat
That's one of two interpretations.
He just wanted to build a road so people would see the beauty of the caves
There is another?
The land that would become Queens Gardens got lost to the Mosskin, then after that White Lady set up shop once it was abandoned.
How does that even work
Queen's Gardens and Fog Canyon break the rules, but Unn also didn't want to be against the Pales
Unn just lost connection to that area.
reririoerieroieiorieroieroerioerie yum om om om
So no, Unn and the Mosskin didn't give anything to the Pale beings
...
do you know what they are talking about?
we know for a fact she gives us shape of unn
i think i said something about unn
-# except for permission to build a road through Greenpath.
I doubt that's possible. godseekers literally admire her ability to "grow so large". So the dream he shares with the mosskin is far larger than the godhome.
Ok, let me correct. Nothing to PK and White Lady
prove it
She's physically large. The Godseekers have a weird thing for size.
I just did????????????????
I mean dumb seeker is also fairly large though he chooses to "observe fights" kilometres away
For some reason
As I said, they have a weird thing for being absolutely fucking huge, like Unn.
sigh
I think that Sherma actually wiped the floor with last judge instead of it letting him pass because he’s pure as heck
Does it happen before (besides massive moss charger)
What happen?
Pure Vessel had to walk so Pure Sherma could run
Obsession with huge stuff
this is canon dont say i think when its true
Exactly 🥲
Sorry about that
Their first bit of conscious dialogue.
In the real world.
Creeper. Did thee wake Us?
Revived, this kingdom. These Gods, tuned and bested, gleaming in mind. Bright. Sharp.
...And this? Our form swells? Large? Nay. Immense. Majestic. Hibernation, so long forced upon Us, yet the shell that results is strong... So strong!
Thine gaze is adoring. Ye must think Us Godly. Amusing, foolish. But thou art faced with enormity and beauty, true...
I think leg eater can mog zote
impossible
Zote has legs, does he not?
yes but they are made of pure soul
Unstoppable force meets immovable object type shit.
Sherma could beat anyone with bells on them
true the thing is with zote you would both equalize eachother and do no damage to eachother
I love how much dung seeker shoos the knight for not being "godly" when one of the pantheons literally have a false god
"False god conjured by the lonely"
sigh
We're short so they think lowly of us. Plus we did kinda break in.
That’s true
Shermas songs would do more damage than zotes life ender probably
Why thank you
incorrect they cancel eachother out
it only affects other beings who arnt zote and sherma
sherma could you stop the radiance?
Whats the topic rn
Sherma singed to make the gate open and it did
She singed to free the bell beast and it was freed
Hornet is a half hb and is a god by godseeker standarts so it is indeed divine intervention
Sherma glaze, I belive.
broooooooo sherma is here get a autographhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Waow
I could potentially drown out the noise of the infection with my magic bell powers
but would you do better than pale king in stopping the radiance?
She still tuned a false god I am crane rn 😭
I believe that if the pale king had more bells he could’ve stopped the infection
Not enough bells in hallownest
we will write this down
Sherma can I have a rosary to play catch with the void
The Radiance dies completely succumbing to Sherma's ragebait thus saving the hollow knight
You may
Yay
sherma could you calm the void to not destroy pharloom?
If I was there when it ||grabbed mother silk|| then yes
Don’t wanna spoil stuff for other people
Sherma's singing could put gms to sleep in the void from the surface
true
do you guys think silksong will get Act 4 or post-act 3 content?
nikaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sherma is here to give autographssssssssss
well i think
it might
