wait whaaat
it wasn't there before
also, I wanted to say something about the HK Wiki, sometimes they get some stuff wrong
What’s up
I've seen a post on some YT channel talking about how some cut rooms weren't what they described them as on the Wiki
It wasn't that big of a deal though
Yeah I know that guy
Some Choral Chamber cut things
He’s pretty specific on things
oh yeah the choral chambers rapture lol
s4v3m3
Why are we discussing cut content in the lore channel
this is where cut content tends to be discussed
karak my goat
It’s not lore
wow this page has gotten bigger wtf
i mean thats just how its seemed for me
OMG I can't what is thiiis
like the mods seem fine with it
this channel seems to be the only place you can actually discuss things
I mean there was some person telling somebody to d!e and mods didn't do anything about it, at least I don't think they did
so probably they don't really pay attention too much
https://mega.nz/folder/edVVRA4B#94IkruvZz5psFJ-Yn9v0fw there seems to be a lot more map screenshots in this document
Sorry if I'm asking again, does anybody know any of these rooms?
yeah IDK to me It seems like VoltNest is similar size. Just more horizontal than vertical
Except for the Ocean thing
HOLY
There's a VESSEL?
Submarine???
Omg 😭😭😭
I'm crying
There's no way
where is that???
where did you find it?
in the folder andy sent
well then thats extremely strange
Oh I haven't looked yet
its in a map from august 2025
Is it from ACMI?
yes
where else lmao
if only tc would release these just online, I'd be all over that
i'm thinking of another crest chapel
Honestly I think that just looks like a bigger version of the Beast chapel.
the problem is its cut a month before release
if something is cut a month before release thats extremely suspicious
what's odd to me is that they cut everything else gloom related earlier on but not this room ?
i think this is far fields tbh
i see air vents
and far fields has red spikes
this could be past the karmelita gate thing?
Like there's a lot of parts that match up with the existing chapel. Maybe, entirely spitablling here, maybe they intended to make an expanded version of the chapel for the second Beastfly fight, before scapping it and putting it in the Fourth arena?
yeah that i figured
I wasn't sure if it was
a month before release tho?
idk
i highly doubt they were modifying any rooms a month before
this looks something that can be interacted
it really feels like there exist two silksongs
i mean whatever this room is its possible dlc
they were
It's for DLC
now it's basically a fact
What is this?
whats also weird to me is i cant find nameless town on the august map
maybe they were working on the first dlc before the release who knows
like the surface climb is there but i cant see nameless town at the top
That's the Bay thing probably
Yeah, and no voltnest too
which might mean nmtown might be the last thing added
well that map just doesnt have internal rooms
other than a weird few
It does?
brightvein isnt there either
It has the surface parcour
it has a few weird ones but most internal rooms arent there
like brightvein should be very obvious but its nowhere to be found on that map
yeah
im still confused about what brightvein is supposed to be lore wise
exhaust organ
https://mega.nz/folder/edVVRA4B#94IkruvZz5psFJ-Yn9v0fw/folder/rVsAFISQ based on the document, it was for hunter's nest
is this the HH vault?
yeah
so the karmelita gate IS dlc bait
“Dunno if you've heard it, needle bug, but supposedly there's a gleaming secret hidden at this mountain's core.
Meant to be a marvel, or so my sisters past once told, a giant cavern all of crystal.”
why the fuck does pinstress even know these things
wait
part of hunter's nest
Doesn't look like anything tbh
“Meant to be a marvel, or so my sisters past once told, a giant cavern all of crystal.”
This looks insane
And there's also some sketch of a room below
I don't think it was on the previous map
Guys i just learned they changed how Gurr fights
and added a proepr 2nd phase to his traps
I think
Now he only throws out 2 traps per attack n a spinning animation
And in 2nd phase it becomes 3
ok this is the clawmaiden room
Here’s the version with border caves
Yeah, and there's this thing...
first dlc is looking like
-pharloom bay with submarine to lifeblood spire
-hunters nest
It kinda looks similar
not really
bro we are not getting submarines
What is that thing in the background btw? I thought it looked like that thing initially, but it doesn't really
I'm getting a bit lost, is it 2025 map?
yes
i think its a weaver spire
ips this is black egg but i may be stupid
we are
oh that's this
brochacho, we surely are...
wait are we serious
oh hell no we're going into more wormways
well yeah i know about cut regions but like
All of these things are based on the august map
submarine?
Which means they cut it literally a month before the release
They wouldn't just randomly throw some ideas to trash literally before the release
dustpillow be like
I mean it's a small thing
why does ts remind me of rain world
you can't prove something not being case, this is disingenuous
"Nah, let's cut out an entire fast travel mechanic and two cool ass big ass locations for funsies"
which rooms are these ?
mist i think
The mist
It is
act 4 final boss area #hopium
I don't think so tbh
But I'm sure there will be a boss
This is where Zylotol's master resides
lost joni :3
Literally
Ohhh I wish
He tells Hornet his master found lifeblood in the farthest part of Pharloom
It's gotta be it
i wish for a plasmium storyline that isnt infection 2.0
There's no way it's not what it is
this is where i watched my master die, hornet
shaw-wabummer
It looks like the lab is infected though
sorry
ahahahha
i mean game needs a new enemy if we'll have epilogue dlc
is it this one?
plasmium is not controlled by anyone unlike radiance's infection
it might be
but prolly not
I hope it's not
At least it doesn't seem so
Cause Zylotol planted it willingly, I don't think there was anything like that with the Radiance's infection
zylotol is just a crazy scientist who made plasmium stronger, he doesn't control it
oh yeah, for sure
I'm not saying he did
you know i will say if this submarine cutscene is good enough it might make up for coral gorge
we need to send tc craw summons over coral gorge
i love sands of karak...
but some crimes are unforgivable
Alrighty, I'm finally done
nice
One of the unknown rooms looks a lot like what Weavenest Atla used to have
Like that thing is the centre
It's very important, as far as I can tell
We can see that thing from the first screenshot here
oh wait yeah your right
It used to connect to the Coral Gorge
I think what is important is the latest updates
Cut stuff is cool, but we won't see something that was cut in 2022 or before almost certainly
yeah the august 2025 map is the important shit
Yeah
but stuff that was cut during the great cut is gone forever probably
And maybe some stuff that is similar to what was cut before
I mean probably, but they may re-work some things and they may end up in new spots
coral gorge copium
Honestly, the ACMI screenshots only vaguely showed us that three rooms we couldn't figure out are a part of Hunter's March or some kind of extention, and the rest are pretty much sketches
We see these four, but they're very vague
So that's all we have so far, I think
- Pharloom Bay
- Lab/Lifeblood Spire
- The Gloom (almost certainly transition between Bay and Lab)
- Hunter's March extention
- Four unknown rooms, three of which are probably related to of the new Ocean areas and the last one is very massive and cool and nobody knows what it is
good work everyone on figuring this shit out
any wiki editors in chat want to get onto these
the first two are in the cut room section but the last 2 arent
Thank you :З
Idk any :c
Also
coral gorge 3:
Yeaaaah let's hope and pray
this spine thing is crazy
This Might have likely been a way back to hallownest perhaps if its a remnant they still had for that angle
Why would that be Hallownest?
I mean as like a passage
I mean it looks like it's some corpse
I think we still may get some of these rooms, or at least something somewhat similar
Yeah i kno, but it weirdly goes off the map like the blasted Steps entrance
It would be a very evil trolling if they just kept these two ledges CLEARLY designed to be transitions
the ledges were still in use in 2024
one of them lead to voltnest the other to watcher
Interesting
so in the end nothing actually got cut
idk
I really don't understand why there is no connection between mt Fay and Karak
Why would there not be?
They always leave tidbits of stuff to add onto because thats how both games developed in the first place
so its not impossible but dont expect it
Surely coral gorge dlc is real...
Or rather, expect something entirely diffrent in this case
ahahahhaa
I mean I don't think there will be a huge new part of Karak tbh
But what I find insteresting is that actually the farthest point is this room in Wormways
The vessel that saved hornet in the true ending doesn’t look like the knight
Is there something that says it’s the knight?
Why does this C tower look like a giant syringe? Is that just me?
It looks like the knight's shade as shown in dream no more
And there's no reason it would be anybody else
The tips of the horns flare a little more upwards instead of inward but other than that they genuinely look identical
Hahahhaa it kinda does
Anti-silk vaccine, recommended by Khann
They look softer now
Ahahahaha
Their appearance 😝
art creep
Genuinely what I see lol
It definitely is
Same
Nooo it's a brand new secret form of the void god 👀
Was I the only one expecting a Shade Lord fight as the final boss of the game?
Still possible in the DLC ofc.. 👀
That sounds awful ngl
I don't want to fight TK
because I don't think they should ever lose
fighting THK would be okay
How is Hornet gonna beat the "god of gods"
A shade lord boss fight would ruin all the aura that the knight has farmed
It would also be a shit boss fight lol
Think about all the best bosses, nkg, pv, karmelita, first sinner
They all have something in common
Aha... theyre all.. uh. Yea i got nothing
THK, kidnapped by steel masters
they give them a new steel arm
true final DLC boss
👀👀👀👀
Should have asked 12th architect for an arm smh
no foresight like her dad
Delicate Flower is how hornet will beat Shade Lord, and Delicate Flower already ruined aura knight has farmed in EtV Delicate Flower endings
What’s the pharloom bay submarine that some of you are talking about
Looked through the cut content wiki stuff and didn’t see something like it
Nah Bro we just need a 3rd Game and hornet needs to save THK at the end so my heart can feel whole.
If they Gonna make The vessels Feel for real why do they gotta Leave THK out huh?
What exactly is the Verdania memory? Is it GP remembering pre-citadel verdania?
What do you think are the chances of one of the dlcs adding more to the coral tower like was originally planned?
Yep
Imo pretty high but I doubt it'll be massive, probably in line with verdania,if I had to guess we'll also have a small memory section added for hunters march
Aside from the tree hearts, who else are backer characters
They would definitely add the steel assassin in a dlc ig
He will be backer
I'm asking if there are any backer characters in the game rn other than the 3 hearts and seth
Ik just saying
Is that all of em? Just those 4? Man there's a lot less than in the original, ig there was only one kickstarter
is hornet a guy
No it's a girl
seth isn't even a backer character but sharpe would have been if he wasn't cut
The only backer characters are Khann and Karmelita p much
chat is sprintsmaster content act 3 exclusive?
cuz i cant see a way to get there without silk soar
oh yup 1 mask is act 3 exlusive from the looks of it
Are the guard bugs in the slab also under the influence of gms or they can think independently?
under gms
iirc
but initially they worked there under the influence of the citadel's religion
they did some sin and doomed to repay it forever
and then came gms
The weaver statues we see across pharloom. Is the purpose of those statues to keep weavers who rebelled against the citadel sealed in them?
No
They are shrines
and the weavers created the citadel
They never rebelled against it
Except first sinner kinda
but they do speak kind of? Before you try to bind them and if you play needolin
Yeah there are actual weavers in there
And hornet binds them to gain power
What was the point of making those shrines and keeping the weavers in them?
Well maybe first sinner influenced some of the other weavers as well. But if that's true then it doesn't make sense why only the first sinner is in the slab while the others are scattered across pharloom
It seems like those weavers were meant to watch over pilgrims
iirc
They were also there to offer powerups to whichever "daughter of a distant land" would come to kill gms
Some of them hoped for a return of powerful kin capable of defeat gms, and so they graved themself in shrines to be source of power for that kin. And that kin happened to be Hornet
The weaver spires, if they ever served a purpose beyond holding a weaver, were probably outposts or shrines for pilgrims to visit along the way. The weavers preserved in there seem to mostly be in order to pass on skills to the weavers that they hope will eventually return to pharloom and free them from gms.
So all these shrines were made before the creation of the citadel?
I dont think so
After
atleast weavers graved in them were after
So after gms kind of awakened from her sleep?
If they planned for a weaver descendant from another land to free them in the future, that means that the spires were built after they decided to flee to other kingdoms
After they fled
some of them stays
Hmmm
the ones in shrines
I feel like its also worth noting that iirc first sinner is also preserved in the same way that a spire weaver is, thought I dunno what the implications there are given shes also in a multi-chained prison
At the very least, the shrines seem to have been made before the expansion of the Citadel, since the clawline shrine has had the Underworks built around it with part of it crumbling.
Maybe that preservation is a way for her to not die, which would allow for her to not have absolution at all
So did something go wrong with their plan? I mean they sealed gms and ruled over pharloom but then decided to flee
Absolution was denied to the first sinner, so maybe they didn't even let her die and kept her alive in a stasis
Nvm Im slow
They became a slaves to their own plan. Keeping gms in slumber forever is impossible and not a freedom they wanted. So they handed over their rulership to conductors and fled from Pharloom.
Ahh makes sense
That's kinda funny they just handed it over like that and dipped
Do all bugs of the citadel have silk in them? From the whiteward experiments?
Probably not all since some citadel bugs aren't haunted
Or atleast some have lower concentrations of it
Are silk flies a result of this experiment?
implied yes
aging bugs were turned into silk flies using a machine found in a hidden whiteward room
their souls are still kept in the silk
these were used to make automatons
Did the weavers also have a hand in that? And also the experiments in whiteward?
perhaps
the point of the experiment was to maximize productivity of the citadels workers, even after they were unable to work
capitalism essentially
both the weavers and conductors likely had a hand in this
Implied that they atleast still has their rulership over citadel when experiments happened
Hmm
they have silkflies in their weavenests
So what is exactly the Threefold Melody? Is it what keeps GMS sleeping?
I'm kinda confused on why are this 3 melodies so important, since it looks like every bug was requested to sing forever and they don't know the Threefold Melody, so I assume what keeps her sleeping is another song
The pontiff of the Whispering Vaults died after gleaming that the threefold melody kept her asleep so yeah
I imagine there can be more than one song that will keep her asleep
Most likely, it's been pointed out how Whiteward has Weavenest architecture
Yeah that's what I imagined
So I'd love to hear thoughts on what is the Threefold Melody and who created it
iirc yes that melody is what keeps gms in sleep. I somwhere heard that cogwork is constant playing that melody, not the pilgrims anymore.
or the melody itself is part of some song. Not sure about this topic
Maybe that's why gms slowly awakened
I never thought about that, what the hell is the TFMelody
Are all bugs capable of being victims of the haunting or only those with some amount of silk in them
but then hornet wouldn't need to search for it on all corners of the citadel, she would figure it out just listening to the cogwork, right?
Ok, time to throw spagethi at the wall until something sticks
What if the Threefold melody isn't what keeps GMS asleep, but it's just a song to ascend and see her personally?
in my interpretation is just the ones that are devout in some level since there are a lot of bugs who arent haunted
I doubt she would. I doubt you can even hear the melody that way, maybe it playing somewhere else in the core
I'm pretty sure it's everyone, but you have to be weakminded, similar to Rad
not sure about it at all
Iirc there was some line with the caretaker that implied that it's possible to take control of so many bugs bcs the descendants of the bugs who had silk inside them due to whiteward also had some silk in them as well
that would make sense
maybe it was created by the weavers and only them knew it, but decided to share it amongst the 3 powers of the citadel so a future weaver-descendent could figure it out
Have they?
but we don't have any evidence
True
Haunting also affects the skarr bugs right
Of course, they're Dock workers, all Dock Workers have silk in them because they're citadel descendants
But I don't think they would have any devotion to the citadel
Yes, it's unclear if they have Silk or not
Oh actually it makes even more sense than I thought actually, the Pontiff might've just gone up
They have soul which is just silk in a different form
Seen the truth himself then cursed the Weavers
I thought dock workers from another settlement near the citadel. forge daughter mentions something about it. Or i completely miss remember it
The other settlement is probably still descendants of the citadel
yes they are
Yeah but Shakra's tribe is probably not even close
They're implied to be nomadic
Or at the very least, very far away from Pharloom
They just travel a lot
Cartographers after all
What are the quarter part and eighth part supposed to mean?
||genetics, quarter is someone who's grand parent is a weaver||
eighth would be great grandparent
I thought it was near impossible for weavers to reproduce
Near not impossible
near impossible, not impossible
Hornet is described as “weaver in half part”. So like I supposed the weaver just mated with other species. And their the weaver part children just continue to do that
It is
Hmm
we know at least 5 weavers had children, out of maybe the tens or even hundreds that existed
I guess that’s why there’s so few weaver descendants mentioned
Who are the 5?
The little weavers in hallownest could be the result of weavers and native deepnest spiders
4 in the cradle + herrah
Oh I completely forgot they existed
If that were true then Hornet wouldn't exist
i reread forge daugther lines. For me it seems that this guys is independent
near impossible
just hired for their skills
My headcanon was it was possible because of the involvement of a higher being
There are more weaverkin
its likely herrah wanted pk because a hb child would make the process easier
we know the other weavers wanted this because of gms
I think it was because having a half higher being child is suddenly a ton of power in your court
Yea
but herrah likely wasnt influenced by her clan, she simply wanted a daughter
!wiki redmemory
Not very related, but Am I the only one who think that getting to see other weaver descendants (that are like half normal bug) is sick asf? Like the potential is unlimited
😭
Red Memory is an area in Hollow Knight: Silksong visited as part of the Act 3 plotline. In it, Hornet journeys through her own memories to find the Everbloom.
good bot
I hope we see other weaver kin that would be cool
"..Ignore them, daughter... their whispers...
...Greater, grander... Weaver, guardian, queen... Those are their desires... not your own. Certainly not mine...
...Only if you resist them, you might see it, another hope... beyond...
...But to recall these words, in time so far... Will you even remember me, child? Could you?...
...A mother... before the mask... before I lay forever in duty..." -herrah
potential for some cool char or boss yes
here herrah implies she wanted a daughter before a being to usurp gms, and that herrah looks different under the mask
Can you point me out which one?
“Only if you resist them, you might see it, another hope beyond…” Geez, look like Herrah did foresee GMS coming for Hornet
What was he cooking
leg eater resembles some kind of mantis
greyroot is a root
tree-like sapience
greyroot at the white lady are likely related
im sure they are
Actually, Can someone explain to me what Herrah dialogue mean from a writing perspective for me? That would be helpful
the even have the same mask
mentioned the other lands around, trade. They seem to me like some mercenaries
Oh I just saw it, "Forgehome" that sounds interesting.
Forge Daugther might be from outside, but the rest of the workers might be Pharloom bugs
Leg eater doesn’t have a mask
their Ancient line too
Let's not confuse Forget Daugther's "Ours" and "We" with actual plurals, she just speaks of herself in plural for some reason
She doesn't mean everyone in the Docks, she speaks of herself
So u mean they are just common bug with bells helmets
sure
"..Ignore them, daughter... their whispers...
the other weavers wanted a weaver that could usurp grand mother silk, they wanted hornet to be their queen and fulfill their desire, herrah was an actual good mother and wanted hornet to fulfill her own desires
...Greater, grander... Weaver, guardian, queen... Those are their desires... not your own. Certainly not mine...
she confirms this here, that herrah never wanted hornet to become the new weaver queen by binding gms
...But to recall these words, in time so far... Will you even remember me, child? Could you?...
herrah implies since hornet is young, she may not recall this conversation
****...A mother... before the mask... before I lay forever in duty..." **she reinstates she is a mother before a leader, the says she will become a dreamer to a young hornet
strange a bit
Typically this is done when someone is speaking in their official capacity as the leader of some area. For example, a monarch uses "we" because they're speaking on behalf of their entire country: their will is the country's will. So Forge Daughter is speaking as leader of the Deep Docks.
all guys seems to be different from pilgrims for example
And yet, she isn't
The Forebrothers are the real leaders of the Deep Docks
i believe they fall to the haunting but not from silk, they didnt have it
Thank you good sir
Haunting itself is strange to me to be honest
I'm honestly in no position to say the opposite, I have no proof of it being otherwise
not sure how it actually work if victim is not silked
It’s like the infection. Gms takes control through soul because soul and silk are very similar
Having silk in your shell just makes it easier for her
There's so much silk in Pharloom that it's basically in every bug. Think of it like microplastics.
That too
Basically mind control microplastics.
There’s probably something with willpower as well. Like bugs with a stronger will resist the haunting
Like the Skarr did until Karm got too weak to sing
alr, just Rad infection basically but from silk
Pretty much. And with an overwhelming feeling of sadness instead of rage
I think about it actually when play the game first time but i thought it something more different
Still pretty much as dangerous. Most of the bellhart bugs did not survive the temporary haunting
I hate this comparison so much it just works so good
We're gonna all get controlled by a Plastic Higher Being at somepoint
Why were the weavers captured by the citadel including hornet?
Was it even THE citadel that ordered the capture or gms
Just don't breathe and eat in and you'll be safe from haunting in Pharloom
It kinda is? From what we see it seems Infection makes literal zombies while Haunting just makes a bug be fully alive again? Kinda?
Haunting victims don't behave the same way as Infection victims
GMS most likely
I mean, it had to be GMS
It seems strange to me why the maker of all weavers would want to get back the weavers in hopes of getting stronger
To get their silk
Haunting either infects already alive bugs (with small willpower?) and makes dead bugs alive again (whose lives have been extended with silk?)
Also because fuck the Weavers and everyone related
Yes, i mean, the Citadel is dead but GMS brings them back and they seem to act exactly how they used to
Then again, City of Tears bugs acted the same way
It was the Crossroads bugs who acted like zombies
Silk also reanimate corpe of a bug
It still doesn't make sense to me
It just didnt decay they minds in to primal state if they are still alive
while haunted
so like is there a spell that makes bugs lose memory when they leave hallownest
cuz im pretty sure the bugs in pharloom are intelligent just like the ones in hallownest yet they didnt get alivened by the pale king
What's the point of the haunting anyway? What is gms trying to achieve by controlling the bugs of pharloom
After being sealed for who knows how long, GMS was probably weakened to some extent. So, not only was she enraged by the Weavers, she also was weak, so she decided to hunt Weavers to regain her power
Worship and killing Hornet
Isn't that the nature of pale beings, to control?
The may have intelligent on their own
The Hallownest thing is probably propaganda, the memory loss things isn't real
While Hallownest one was primal before pk
quirrel?
That was Monomon's doing
mantises were and still are smart tho
wait what?
Probably
why would monomon do that
also can they speak?
To protect him until the time is right
She gave him mask that prevent losing mind outside of the kingdom completely
just memory loss
pk's spell isnt just propaganda iirc
Hornet left Hallownest and remembers everything, though she is special
We have no proof of that
Maybe, i just remeber it from somewhere
canon or theory, not sure
Probably theory, the mask was protection for Monomon
That's what Quirrel says at least
"To save Hallownest, the Teacher willingly became a seal, but upon herself she enacted an additional protection."
The reason why I say Monomon just put a spell on his mind so he could forget is because he can start remembering (and dying) after Monomon is killed
So those two were bound somehow
And before someone brings it up, this doesn't seem to be the case with Seth
We don't know what's up with Seth
I think Hornet just hit him too hard
Quite the opposite happens
I think the bugs that were made sentient by the pale king would lose sentience when outside hallownest, but everyone else will be unaffected
Fair assumption
What if being a higher being was a spectrum? This would explain why-
- hornet is called a higher being by the silksong mask maker. She's not a god or anything, she's just higher than most
- "higher beings these words are for you alone" means that the bugs of hallownest were higher than other bugs because the pale king gave them sentience
- the lore tablet in the pharloom abyss says "we higher who see you seeking". If the weavers wrote that, then it makes sense because they're said to be of a "higher caste". If the ancient civilization wrote that, then idk
- there are multiple mentions of a "higher caste" and "honoured caste", even when these terms refer to non-gods. So maybe they were just higher than normal bugs
All of this is baseless but idc
"we higher who see you seeking" which one is this?
Mask Maker doesn't really call her a Higher Being, he calls her Old One and makes mention of "Her Higher Caste"
Also Mask Maker is apparently in a trance while masked?
At the very least he's not "Lucid"
The Citadel seemed to have a pseudo-caste system where the Weavers are at the top, then the Conductors, Vaultkeepers, Architects, higher choristors, lesser choristors, pilgrims, etc. Social status rather than power levels.
Nah the hierarchical system for the pilgrims didn't exist when the weavers were in charge
What makes you say that?
Pious isamor talks about how all the bugs are equal or something
And that was shortly after the weavers gave away their power
You're right sorry
I just wanted some supermassive supercool superepic boss 🙁
Isn't Hornet half-higher being?
All the pilgrims are, but systems like that have a way of very quickly turning into "some are more more equal than others." After all, even back then Isamor talked about pilgrims joining the eternal choir, and choirs need a conductor to lead them.
Isamor is an indoctrination machine
half
It seems more like isamor was actually saying the truth and they hid it away after the hierarchy got established but that's my interpretation
Since the Weavers were the ones who put the Citadel into the hands of the common bugs, they would've been the ones to decide which common bugs would lead it, and those bugs would have a vested interested in making sure their kind continued to lead it.
Also, I found out yesterday that there originally was supposed to be a special state of Judges, when they don't attack Hornet when she passes, if she hasn't killed anybody on her way to the Citadel
It's still in the code
It's literally an indoctrination machine
"Hark! Pilgrim! You who climb to our eternal embrace, who stand struck before the threshold of our stark Citadel of stone... know your true service may now commence.
Forget... your weary shell. Forgo the urge to still your voice/song... Pharloom commands you to give the greatest gift! Join our chorus! Raise your shell, your voice... and sing!"
Yes, but I'm just commenting on her Higher Being status, which means she's not fully a Higher Being
Like Isamor is not a person, is an actual machine
Meant to indoctrinate people
Yeah so that would mean that the bugs are encouraged to punish those who try to live above others
How so?
Isamor indoctrinates that
I know you're already talking about something else, but I wanted to bring that up again, I think Higher Beings are specifically some beings with outstanding powers, and the title of the Higher Being is only passed to their direct descendants
He talks about how the pilgrims must stay vigilant for those bugs that succumb to their selfish desires
Those bugs clearly don't include the Weavers who are very much mentioned in this dialogue
"...Dear pilgrim... Dark it seems now... let these words become your guide...
Hear our voice... Let it join your own! Give all (?) of yourself... for great Pharloom, for the first-children who bequeath it to us... for our salvation sure to come!"
This is a reconstruction of his dialogue by the Wiki btw
Yeah because this is after the weavers gave the power to the pilgrims
The Red Words are the ones that are added
But it doesn't talk about how all bugs are equal
It talks about how all their clothes are plain, how the citadel is bare and unadorned, and how excess is sin
Important to differentiate between just pilgrims and all common bugs. Again, the Weavers would've set up their intended hierarchal system for the Citadel before they left, because keeping GMS asleep was too important to just go "okay, it's all yours now, you're all equal, have fun."
In other words, "Be obedient to your new masters"
It would be weird to mean that message when right after it talks about punishing those who relent to their desires since that sin spreads like flame
I don't understand what you mean by this, all Isamor is saying is to keep working obediently
Yeah isamor wants them to work but it also implies how the bugs used to all be equal, and that it is imperative to punish those who try to relent to their own desires
And since this statue was locked away, it can be inferred it was hidden because the message didn't apply anymore
This is something that happens all the time in real life systems. In theory everyone is supposed to be equal. But of course you need someone to lead them, and that person has greater responsibilities, so they should get greater comforts. It's not considered an excess, they're not falling for their own desires, because they're just working on behalf of the entire Citadel, so it's just a little extra to make sure they can do their job as best as they can.
And as the choir progresses, some choristers are identified who have more harmony, or are more responsible, or loyal, or just shut up and do what they're told the best, so those ones are singled out and given a slightly higher role. Again, it's not an excess because they're not having their desires catered, they're just getting a little extra to make sure they can do their jobs for the glory of the Citadel as a whole.
And certainly it would be improper for regular pilgrims to demand greater treatment they haven't earned, because the Conductors were chosen by the Weavers divine heart of the Citadel, so they know what's best, surely their decisions are what's best for the Citadel.
Or because the machine was broken
Why would it be in the whispering vaults of all places then
The bugs of the high halls still clearly live a much more lavish life than the underworkers
Vaults are where you keep things
Yeah, because that's the end result of decades, maybe centuries, of corruption. But the early Citadel would've still had a hierarchy, because a choir needs a conductor, and keeping GMS asleep is too important for Weavers to put everything in the hands of anarchy.
The vaultkeepers themselves seem to hoard knowledge so I doubt they’d want to destroy it
Exactly, they keep knowledge specifically not just random things. The pious isamor is forbidden knowledge that the conductors ensured to hide, similarly to how the weavers hid the truth about the citadel there too
They’re selfish that way
I really like the trope of a knowledge hoarding character or series of characters
Still, I think Isamor just got removed because it was broken and not because some hidden truth.
The message is more about the common pilgrims who got into the Citadel rather than the High Caste, which is just bureaucrats
Indoctrination isn't about what its right, its about obedience.
We don't even know if the High Caste in High Halls were even common pilgrims at some point
It's important to note how Isamor says "Pilgrims" and not bugs.
Bugs are not all equal, because those in High Halls are better than you, Pilgrims, however, are all equal
Animal Farm is a fun book to read
The king of deepnest is also said to be of "honoured caste"
Which I'm willing to bet that its just strong/big/powerfull bugs
The theory still stands
I don't really want to put in any effort in defending the theory because it was just a random thought anyway
I mean, I rather stick to "Higher Beings are what one would call Gods"
And there's a bunch of other dudes who are noble enough or powerful enough to be called "Higher" but that doesn't mean they're higher beings
How the hell did that flea get into exhaust organ
It didn't, it's on the outside.
How did it go through the mist I mean
Could've sung
Maybe the fleas name was sam
And sam sung
Galaxy
Why does bell beast give a silk heart
Why didnt bell beast help us before fighting bell eater and only came in at the last moment to steal our kill
Aura farming
Camper
star what do you think of the fact there were hunters nest rooms cut a month before release
i believe these are from when it was hunters nests
these rooms have been in the corner since before the great cut
and they were present in the august 2025 map
stupid conversation prediction
travelling
We called out its name
it was probably waiting for the right moment
she was waiting for hornet to weaken it enough and then for the right moment to pounce on it
Or maybe she js heard it late
Man I'm starting to make peace with coral being blasted steps/sands of karak but Hunter's Nest got unnecessarily heavily trimmed down
coral steps looked so pretty
sad it was cut
cut a month before release is extremely sus tho
except the judges
yeah the judges didnt fit
the judges did not look like they belonged there lol
No peace with them we make.
what the hell is the gloom
Its a cut area but the image is probably barnacle bay submarine stuff
yeah
the gloom seemed cool
Oh ye btw something was interesting found about that "The Gloom" and Lifeblood SPire one
If you zoom in you can actually see some sort of water-vessel that's also present in Pharloom Bay
Pretty sure the sub is visible if you zoom in
but i like gargant gloom even in the void
someone doesn't hate the gloom slugs in the abyss????
Holy shit
it was cut in august its coming back lol
All i've seen is ppl talk how its ass conceptually
they look cool and they scared the shit out of me in my playthrough
there is no way they drop a mention of it in game
when it got cut a month before release
theres no reason for it to be there tho
Trypophobia monsters
I mean they could
Js like the creepers are there
I don't like the gloombeasts
trypophobia jumpscare
also apparently the slab cutscene was created very close to release
I think you've made that clear enough
i wonder if that will possibly get implemented
Do I almost feel fear?
Why did they cut it
idk tho
genuinely
There's no sound effects for it iirc
maybe because they thought it was like
maybe they didnt have enough time to add it in or it didnt fit
an unnecessary thing
yeah
since this game already has quite a bunch of cutscenes
The needle upgrade cutscene was unskippable but then they changed it to be skipped, theres always hope
its short
What annoys me the most
is the lil hornet weakened state shit at the start of the game and act 3
WHY
TRUE
Did we ever get context for that?
Storytelling
hornet is weakened
atleast it comforts me that the ledges in coral tower didnt lead to any cool cut shit
Right after you have to sit through an unskippable fakeout ending with unskippable fakeout credits too
Hornets just pretty injured at that time
You can skip credits though right?
they were just previous entrances to voltnest and where watcher wouldve been
just let me play the game 💔
And that's an ending
I don't think so?
metal gear rising revengeance?
yes
ball
Anyway the weakened hornet thing is pointless
We already know she was weakened by the cage from Churchkeepers dialogue
you cannot skip credits
Should be an option to skip it
or if you
fucking
jump enough
walk it off
girl has cramps give her a moment smh 😔
They thought they could recapture the tuffness of Hyper Light Drifter slow walking scenes
short ahh game
Period cramps 😔
Hornet after she starts coughing up silk while walking slowly and then GMS appears and does the 8 arm grab attack
One time right at the beginning would have represented the same thing. Maybe before she first binds with the needle or something.
Three times is crazy.
Do we know why the silk fly somehow broke the sealing of the cage hornet was captured in at the beginning of the game?
Lace
probably
Vague magic I think
Yeah it should've been ONLY
when she's standing up
Lace is seen conducting them so she probably sent it but as for the how its not really explained
before binding
Probably something to do with them both being silk
Something something silk and song
fucking dies irae motif conducts the silkflies
That soul was a tuff being
Oh yea something I noticed is at the beginning of the game you sometimes see groups of silk flies that fly away when you get close
It’s probably lace keeping tabs on Hornet
Or silkflies guiding her
as they uh
That is kinda their purpose
were meant to
That could be the case
What we talking about
Not much
Lace breaking Hornet out is kinda confusing to me. Why not just kill her in the cage, if that was her goal.
I guess “then there wouldn’t be a game” is the real answer, but it just seems odd.
She was rebelling
Her goal wasn’t to kill Hornet it was to rebel against her mother
And her fights are what, just testing Hornet to make sure she’s strong enough?
She’s jealous of gms paying more attention to Hornet than her
How would she kill her in the cage without first busting the cage open
pretty sure it is lace trying to guide her to the first fight. those silkflies go all the way from moss grotto to that first arena, and then you see lace commanding them and singing
Also Hornet takes a massive fall that leaves her at one mask
Yeah it does seem like she’s waiting for her
She very plausibly could've expected Hornet to die there
Maybe she was trying to see why gms payed more attention to Hornet than her own daughter
But that’s also Lace expecting Hornet to break the bridge in the first place.
It probably was a bit irrational of lace
She’s jealous and hurt and trying to hurt her mother
i mean it forced hornets power in, break the seal and lace probably expected the power to erupt (?)
Eva is a failed copy of gms
bad wording
oh
so like shes like lace but instead of trying to be a child she was meant to be gms
she?
idk
I don’t think she expected her to die. I kinda think she just was testing to see what would happen
where did the abyss portal lead btw
the final boss arena?
Kinda. She was a failed weaver plan to kill gms
i wasnt replying to the dying i was talking abt the bridge breaking
I don’t really think lace planned that far ahead and it kinda just happened
Lace could rlly just travel anywhere to fight her
as we can see her in several places if you skip deep docks
She probably doesn’t have any problems with haunted bugs
I was thinking “it’s a cage, she can just stab through it,” but I’m dumb and didn’t consider the seal keeping things out. So just ignore that.
Even if they attacked her she’s fast and deadly
I doubt they'd do that
Yea. We don’t really know lol
esp since the haunting is an extension of gms's will
that would be almost as if gms herself started spanking lace
Her love for lace is conditional
Especially considering what happened to phantom
She literally chopped off gms's arm and she still wanted her to live
I mean lace was perfect in her eyes
We don't really know what happened to Phantom
With the condition she stayed an eternal child
“Discarded”
Under what conditions?
From what I’ve pieced together they weren’t good enough for gms or pissed her off or made her worry they would betray her so gms deliberately forgot and discarded them and tried again with lace
Probably the former, we don't know enough about Phantom to claim she was going to betray her
I've also thought about this
It seems phantom was a prototype, unstable and falling apart
or her state in which we find her in is simply due to not having any source of silk to draw upon to sustain herself unlike Lace
in which case all we know is that GMS discarded her
lace might have gotten the idea that her mother doesn't love her after finding out about phantom
Would Phantom being discarded and forgotten be the reason that Lace wanted to rebel against GMS?
Lmao I had the same exact thought.
And the citadel might've made her more cynical
idk i mean Grand Mother silk did create her children like Lace and Phantom bcz of her lonliness and not out of true parental love so yea might be
could be most likely
Team Cherry left Phantom’s story so vague because they exist only as Lace characterization.
Phantom Memory DLC when.
She does her job well enough
the organ sleepers will return
why are they sleeping in my organs 😨
Can somebody find this with a better quality, not so pixelated
If the wastes are just an empty landmass, why are there specific paths to each kingdom
Can't they just go in a straight lime
Or are there caves and tunnels connecting all kingdoms
That seems to be the case
Source, Quirrel comic!
The wasteland is probably also not easy to traverse
Terrifying creatures
I mean, "Wastelands" are usually not easy to traverse
Quirrel saved Boon
And for the record, the things that attacked Boon look really similar to the things near the surface in Silksong
The worm/centipede things
They are the same
Most likely
Where do you read those comics
There's only the one, can't remember which page i read it
Rats 😔
just look it up
yeah
i think skrill are supposed to be a reference to this
and garpids
I just want to talk about how not tuff this line is
Hornet might've never had the sauce
I really need a second chapter this art was so delicious
Where’s the second chapter?
what would it even be
the second chapter is hk
maybe if they did it for a silksong character
like maybe shakra or sherma or garmond backstory
It would be nice honestly. Shakra or Garmond comic would go hard
i want to see one for sherma tbh
wtf is this little kid doing in pharloom
wheres his parents
Going on his pilgrimage
wait tell you learn he's like 23
whats weird is one of them has eyes
which the hunters journal says theyre sightless
but the rest dont
Remember guys they decided Silksong was its own game before hk released it's totally happening guys
Just ignore the last part maybe it's coming with the collector's edition
ari actually talked here once wtf
In retrospect is this not like Shakra calling Hornet a kid
He’s older than her
these are different bugs arent they
i think maybe its just different ages
bc garpedes have eyes in hk
so i feel like what we see in silksong are babies
who dont have eyes
Idk you could say sightless =/= eyeless ig?
i mean that would make sense
The eyes are on “top” anyway so we won’t see them
I think it’s fair to say those are garpids
yeah
i feel like maybe garpids are like very young ones
and then quirrel comic is slightly older ones
and then garpedes are like adult ones
Hey, do you have Wanderer's Journal too?
I own the actual book but I don't think there are any legal digital copies of it online
uh
i dont think so
I don't remember there being one?
Prolly not
silksong merch drop is going to be so good
can we get a return of these comics
a beastling plush would go well with my fat seal
we NEED a silksong book
silksong wanderers journal is probably still like a year away
maybe even more
i dont think the merch drop will have one
dlc expansions are more hype than the game itself
Like in 2 years, after one or two DLCs
I mean most people are done with the base game already
so its big sad when content runs out
“2 years 2 dlcs”
do you mean 8 years 1 DLC
Yeah I mean I completed the game the first week I think
Perhaps
i couldnt complete it the first week due to exams
I 100%ed it during the second week I believe
So there wasn't too much content ahahahaha
I wish is was 10 times bigger
I did it myself
#hk-art-gallery message
(but a real one would be okay too, I guess)
OMG
It's soo cool
It looks very good
Like incredibly good
Where can I purchase one??
That's actually really dope, damn
i'll auction off the only copy in the future
its so good wtf
That was you???? That’s awesome
I mean jokes aside I want to 100% this game
who wouldnt
I want that bruh
Where is The Wall
i wonder how hard it would be for modders to glom both kingdoms together
me tooo
they’re both big assets so
Very very very hard
that might take a while
I don't think it would be too hard
I have no idea hahahaha
Why?
Probably pretty difficult? Depends on how similar Silksong and Voidheart’s level design are under the hood
My answer is pure speculation just based on my understanding of how it works
Ok this is an insane take
I finished it pretty quickly but i played all the time i wasnt at work/college and fully no-lifed during weekends. The game is massive and way bigger than i expected even with all the time in the oven
I want a silksong fanmade area mod with actual quality
Silksong: The Sanctuary
Idk how much it took u but it took me 60 hours that is longer than most games and i didn't really spend much time in any boss
Ohhh I wasn't really serious, what I meant was that I like it so much I would enjoy the game even if it was 10 times bigger
Everytime i see this map i get bothered because I keep thinking how whoever made this map didn't understand that Crystal Peak and Howling Cliffs are huge mountains
who said they were?
i think the game on average takes 50 hours to beat i dont believe it takes 30 hours
I love it, because whoever made this map understood that both of those huge mountains are still in underground caverns
Depends on the ending
Oh yeah I get that the game was great and I'd be down for a bigger Silksong but it was a lot for a base game (no dlc) compared to HKs
Hope dlc doesn't take long tho
Oh yeah, it felt like it was two base games
But honestly I don't really care that much, it'll come out within my lifetime and it's not like i don't have tons of other great games to play in the meantime
HK DLC was great, but even it didn't really add new areas - Godhome only, really and it's a boss rush gallery
if SS DLC adds full on new areas with enemies and bosses and tools, even one would be pretty amazing
Are we even sure it's still underground?
Yeah, I hope Silksong DLCs won't be like that
I say 'yes'
underground forever
I mean something similar to Grimm Troupe would be cool, but honestly, I don't think it would feel all that significant compared to the entire game
Yeah the sun is gone /silly
There's nothing that would say it isn't
The lifeblood dlc didnt add anything more?
no sun
no sky
only underground bug kingdoms forever
There's only one place we know to not be underground, which is THE SURFACE
The rest might very well be underground
Is nameless town near surface
even that
You say that and yet there's people who literally say that's still underground
like me
Tbf im down for smaller dlcs if they come with some nice challenges like PoP or whatever
The one issue I has with SS is that it lacked some "ultimate challenge" areas that i has come to expect from even base HK with White Palace and Colesseum
And I'm almost certain there is no surface in Hallownest
I know, I've heard some 😭
I don't want anything harder than the path to the surface
path of 'fuck you'
