Whether that new being’s role is to fix Pharloom or to destroy/corrupt it is left ambiguous by the narrative — both readings are supported by the imagery and stakes shown in the endings.

Every patient that died in whiteward due to the experiments ran by the weavers were made into white butterflies like the one lace owns and the automatons in cogwork core and the fourth chorus in far fields

The conductor is only alive due to a spool of silk stopping it from dying a lot of the enemies found in the whiteward have silk around them(example being the dredge husk)

So silk pretty much grants immortality as long as you don't lose it
