Hunter crest's attacks are medium-sized arcs with some stabs because Hornet is using every part of the blade to make slashes and thrusts.

Reaper crest changes the shape of Hornet's strikes into wide arcs, which makes sense because that's the path the Needle would take if it was swung wide and slow and using every inch of the sharp edges.

Wanderer crest changes the shape of Hornet's strikes into short and quick arcs, which makes sense because that's the path the Needle would take if it was swung fast and close to the body, and basically only using the edges at the tip of the blade.

Architect crest changes the shape of Hornet's strikes into long, narrow, and twisting spirals because Hornet is rotating the Needle around its handle and thrusting it forward.

Shaman crest is probably using Soul magic to launch sharp arcs and circles off of the Needle.

Beast crest, tho? Why is the Needle's trajectory shaped like a claw? How is Hornet doing that with her Needle? There's only one blade on it, how is she making three arcs with every swing of her Needle? The pogo makes sense cuz she's spinning her body like Sonic the Hedgehog, but her normal attacks and her charged attack?

All the NPC’s and packed areas and stuff yeah helps a lot, but it really stresses that fact to see two basic enemies be casual friendly faces. Pilby and Ballow aren’t special, aren’t unique, and aren’t stand outs in any real way. They just, are. They’re just Pilby and Ballow. They live in Pharloom, faced its struggles, and it stresses how EVERY enemy is a Pharloom resident. EVERY enemy was a person who eventually in one way or another, was impacted or fell to the Citadel

For every enemy we have to put down, that’s a Pilby who’s pilgrimage ended abruptly
For every wave of attacks we have to endure, we cut down just another worker trying to survive the harsh conditions imposed on them by the Choir

The existence of casual unimportant NPCs really makes every horrific action enacted by the Grand Mother so much worse in the end and it’s amazing
