#Crashes on Steam

Try restarting your device and reinstalling Polytopia (if you can without buying it again). This sounds like it may be caused by an old device, like low memory/processor capability, so you might also want to try some renewal stuff like a defrag.
nope, i have a ROG zephyrus with a 4090 and 32 gb of ram
and an i9, dont remember the exact model rn
Those details don't mean anything to me. I don't know much about computer hardware.
Are you definitely on the newest version of Polytopia? Multiplayer v116? Steam crashes were reported frequently a few versions ago.
newest version, very good specs on a new laptop
@gloomy trellis
Make sure your drivers are up to date
they are
I know it's a bit late, but I too am experiencing crashes on Steam. AMD RX 6650XT, AMD Ryzen 5800X, 32GB Corsair DDR4 RAM. Latest version, latest Steam version, latest AMD drivers, latest Windows 11 version of 24H2. Not experiencing this on any other Steam game let alone games outside of Steam. Sometimes it doesn't even crash properly and just hangs until you force close it.
@gloomy trellis Any other suggestions?
Did you try restarting your computer and reinstalling Polytopia?
Already tried restarting, just reinstalled and we'll see.
Just happened again
I luckily don't lose more than a part of a turns worth of progress though.
Congrats Brutal Boy 1. Your recent activity just advanced you to level 1!
The weirdest part is it doesn't happen consistently, sometimes it crashes 5 times in a minute, other times it crashes 1 time in 10. One of the crashes I remember I was simply double selecting a tile because there was a unit underneath and it crashed. The other times was NOT double selecting, so I have no idea what's causing it.
Thanks for the details. Zoythrus is probably busy at the world championships right now, but he'll try to help when he can.
@glacial fable @frail geyser Sorry for not being around, I am busy with the World Championships
Drivers are up to date, which is good.
Are you on any beta builds? Actually, can you post your Debug Info, @glacial fable ?
I don't think it's normal for the release version of Polytopia to have a folder with "Polytopia_BurstDebugInformation_DoNotShip", is it?
@gloomy trellis @frail geyser
If it isn't normal like I think it isn't, that that's probably why I'm crashing. Btw, the Device being "System Product Name (ASUS)" is because I'm using a computer I built from scratch using an ASUS motherboard.
I'm gonna try to move the folder out to see if it stops the crashing.
Yeah, reading through it, it is NOT supposed to be in the release version of the game. Idk how it got here, but I know it is supposed to be for the devs, not the consumers.
It did not fix it
Huh, bizarre
I'll talk to the devs when I can
Alright, thanks
