#24 hours turns into 60 days
87 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
yep i also seen that multiple times
Is this all the time, or only some games? And are live games and 7-day games fine?
Update to multiplayer v112. 7 days is an option on the newest version.
Tell me please, where is that option
By the way, i have the newest version
Can you check your multiplayer profile and tell me what version number it says there?
Game version - 112
Is the first image Pass'n'Play?
Oh, random online versus against friends.
That's very weird, I've never seen this. Try restarting your device and reinstalling the app if you haven't yet. If those don't work, DM Zoythrus. This looks more individual than app-based.
i seen that many times already
and i am pretty sure it has occured to me
literally when i open any game
(random one)
BUT
my build can be messed up anyway
but the fact that others also are getting this on vanilla poly seems to me weird
@merry vessel I noticed that already in this picture it indicates the 60 days. Do you have the same early warning?
It didn't help
So im going to DMZoythrus
Congrats Olera. Your recent activity just advanced you to level 1!
yes
not sure what u mean by early warning
but yes, the random game created has 60 days
I mean that on the game-setup screen says 60 days, even before the game actually exists.
what do you even mean by “the game actually exists”
that is a lobby
even if you didnt accept it creates a lobby
and lobby has already a broken setting
which thus turns into creation of a broken game
which most likely comes from that 7 days thing
@merry vessel This screen (first image), where you're creating the game. Until you hit the blue button at the bottom, the game doesn't exist. I understand that a lobby is a real game.
so sorry, i misunderstood what u was saying. i guess i should have that thing too
I'm aware of this one.
Not my top priority, but will fix it when I get some time to spare
This is happening to me too now. Only after I deleted and reinstalled. I’m on iOS. Happens for random or curated multiplayer when 24 hours is selected on setup
I'm getting the same bug after reinstalling
@zinc otter
I reinstalled again and it did the same thing, however, before I started a new match, i swapped to live game, and then back to 24 hours, and it seems to have resolved. I hope this helps anyone else that ends up with the bug.
Iphone?
Thank you for the report!
I'm also seeing this. I'm in a game where my opponent is not taking their turn. They have 56 days left to play -- urgh!! A fix would be nice, please 🙂
@stoic parcel Have you tried this fix?
Not exactly. I tried setting up a live game, but didn't actually start it (don't really like like games). Do I need to play a live game for this to work? Will I need to resign my existing game?
No and no. My understanding is that, from the game-creation menu, you flip the toggle to "live" and then back to "24 hours" and it fixes.
exact same thing happened with me
Congrats DeviousDot. Your recent activity just advanced you to level 3!
im actually playing a 60 day game right now
Doesn't work for me 😦
At least not for the existing game that is still stuck on a 60 day timer. New games are using 24 hour. Oh well, I guess the existing game will just take a while :oP
Yeah, I didn't think it would apply to existing games. It's frustrating that it can happen, and once it happens you're kind of stuck, but this hopefully can prevent it from happening again.
I came across a player that seems to be intentionally exploting this bug. They had 2 1v1s going on with me. As soon as they realized they were going to lose, their turn time conveniently had this bug, and they have not played since. I wish there was a report, as they probably rely on people just resigning or forgetting about the matches.
Here is the game info for both Incase you are able to see what they did to help fix the bug.

Was it 24 hours up to a point, and then became 60 days, or was it always 60 days?
Yup, it was 24 hours the whole match. Then suddenly 60
That's different than the bug originally described here, and even worse. If it really is at the control of that player, as you said, there's a chance they're hacking the game server to change the time control.
@merry vessel You know more than I do about software engineering and hacking. Is what I described possible and/or likely given this evidence?
Ahh, should I open a new report? I was suspicious throughout the whole game that they could see what I was doing as well. I was eagerly waiting to watch the replay after the match ended
We can stay here. I don't think we're going to see a lot more discussion of the original issue in this thread. I understand it may be a while until the games end, but replay links would help once they're available.
Sounds good, yeah I'll share that whenever it eventually ends lol.
Thanks for the quick replies!
So, afaik, you cant do it mid match
I did do a lot of funny things, but most of them should be done before lobby game started
@fathom magnet This is probably for the devs, but this conversation leads me to believe that the opponent in the above games, Corazziere profondo, has a very dangerous power over the database. Is there anything you can do?
We do know about thr 60 days bug. Midjiate simply didn't have tome to fix it
But he knows about it
oh my god lmao bro
that doesn’t mean that at all
i will currently try to reproduce it via the method i have
Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your first response. I asked if you thought what happened was possible, and you said you weren't aware of it, so I'm just reporting that it is a thing that can be done. Perhaps my language didn't communicate my thoughts clearly, but to me the user very likely is messing around in the database to get favorable outcomes.
its okay
what i mean is
i can do such manipulation without any db access
but i wasnt aware that its possible AFTER game’s creation
This is what I mean when I say that A. you have more experience in this area than I do and B. my language is imprecise. What you're manipulating is the database, ultimately, based on what I know, but you have a way of doing it that doesn't interact directly with the database.
This is separate. In these two cases, the time control changed in the middle of the game, likely at the behest of one of the players. I'm suggesting action against that user if that's something you can do.
Hmmmm, I'll bring it up.
Had this issue after reinstalling the game. I always get it after reinstalling.
Fix 1: yes, the flip flop to live game and back instantly solved the timer issue.
Fix 2: never uninstall Polytopia 😉
I mean OP's issue, not the mid-game thing, this I never saw.
The 60 day bug has a fix on the way. Probably next week.
Changing the time after the match has started is the first time I've seen. Please let me know if anyone sees this happen again.
