#Can't open replays or join game links on steam

Whenever I try to open a replay link on steam, my steam just flashes in and out of it and I can't do anything. I've tried removing and re-installing polytopia and even steam itself, updating my computer, everything

I use a macbook and the issue has persisted for a few months now

not sure if this matters, but just checked if i was in beta and i don't even have the option to opt in to beta

did not help, here's a screen recording of what happens

and i have to force quit steam before i can start clicking anything again

For him, specifically, the link he was trying to open was bad

#

But when he tried to open a different link, it worked out just fine

Right-click Polytopia > Properties > Local Files > Validate integrity of local files

could it be that the replay games try directing you to the non beta of polytopia and crash because theres nothing in those folders?

It could be your firewall is seeing discord/steam trying to launch a program and is shutting it down

#

Actually probably best bet is clearing your steam cache

Cloud and I got it working but we have no idea how

the first thing we did was run the direct url shortcut

clouds running a mac os with google chrome as a default browser

brought cloud to the website with the hyper link that runs steam://run/874390//opengame?id=d65e19a1-56cb-48f1-e6a3-08dd3b28b809

but the kicker is

chrome started working and we don't know why

#

my main guess is mac defender now recognized the url steam://run/874390//opengame?id=d65e19a1-56cb-48f1-e6a3-08dd3b28b809 and was no longer blocking it but I have no way to test that

my computer ran the steam://run fine but I only ran it through direct shortcuts on my windows computer

my main question now is why would it crash steam?

anyways cloud restarted his computer and it works fine now on chrome
