Alright I believe we all know about it at this point, you get 10 ⭐ reactions on your post in #artist-showcase, and it gets into #fanart-gallery. Pretty straightforward.

However, lately I started to realize how... easy it is to get 10 ⭐
( Disclaimer: I do not have anything against the works of artists which will be used as examples in this post and the intention of this is not to downplay their skills as an artist. These artists definitely have put in a good amount of work to make their pieces, but some of them just seem to have... a lack of quality/effort despite the artist's skills and capabilities.)

Examples:

#artist-showcase message by @little gorge, but then the next work by Cepwer #artist-showcase message isn't in #fanart-gallery, despite its increase in effort from the post that is in #fanart-gallery

#artist-showcase message by @ashen frigate, which pales in comparison to what he can actually do as shown here: #artist-showcase message

Especially with the amount of artists lately in #artist-showcase ( I have counted 45 artists who have posted this January alone, and we are only half the month in Polyshock1)

I believe increasing the threshold to get into #fanart-gallery would allow works that deserve recognition to get more recognition, and to motivate people into actually putting more effort into their works.

10 was just a random number we started with and it is intended to be subject of recalibration

the fact that 10 is easier to reach than it used to is great!!
it means thing work nicely and art infrastructure is growing in use and popularity

I would go with 15, its a bit more than before, but a lot of the truly great posts reach 18 - 20, while some that arent that good only reach 12, and wouldnt go into fanart-gallery

1️⃣ Increase the threshold for #fanart-gallery from 10⭐ to 15⭐

2️⃣ Add a new gallery that has a higher requirement (probably 25 or 30⭐?) called #fanart-museum or if anyone has a better name then go ahead

3️⃣ Adjust the ⭐ requirement of #fanart-gallery every month to account for the people active in the art corner

4️⃣ Add a gallery where art is handpicked by moderators to bring attention to them

5️⃣ Keep everything the same.
