My friend tried to play this game for the first time last night. Jumped right into beta. He couldn't buy any tribe at all, nor play creative. The buttons were disabled. He was logged into Google Play and saw the Google popup "Hey there, eric" but it refused to let him play.
He could play domination though. And he could see the global high scores from Perfection players. But in the Multiplayer menu, it said it could not connect to the servers. Tried on wifi and on mobile data.
