All channels in the Polytopia Discussion, Server Channels, and Multiplayer categories are deemed "serious," and are more heavily moderated, for those who want to talk about the game. The other categories are for hanging out with other fans, with fun channels like #general or #dank-polymemes.
These server categories have since been renamed.

We regularly ping our Notify role for events local to the server. If you don't want these pings, simply type !nonotify to have the role removed.
The directions here can be confusing for users unfamiliar with Discord. Something along the lines of “send !nonotify as its own message in #bot-commands” would be more clear.
