First time ever dealing with oil, too. Though probably a bit cheaty because i've done it with boops, i didn't have to go through the trouble of supplying the suit checkpoints with oxygen and all.
I was tempted wasuse a single bionic to dedicate on depressurizing well, but I decided to not take any bionic dupe
tbh I might restart with just fleshy dupes to see how hard it is to get down there in time without bionics
though the gift of hindsight doesn't make it as hard since I ended up wasting a lot of time looking in the wrong direction
whats the verdict on fleshy dupe
they're just slower to get started with really
you have to wait for skill points and they have such pitifully tiny lungs
i meant in terms of the uh..khrono score
and their lungs are stronk, i could never hold my breath for a third of a cycle
took a while, but it works
ok maybe this is a bit ambitious at 7.2 kg/s
hey why didnt u use the patented nigit seed duper
i didn't see you post one

thimble reeds are lotsa work, maybe I should get some
i use 13 wild lumbs
how many databanks is that to printercept
well, for now my dupes will toil in the thimble mines
As per Nigit's suggestion/emoji I have augmented my power supply with ||statues of|| gassy moos.
It's for Moorale support
Note to self: mod that renames Happiness on moos to Moorale.
every status item on them should have moo in the name
doesn't matter how contrived
Moossy Moo
:moonod:
moomoomoo artifact when
can this CO2 be deleted "by accident"?
If you throw some bleach stone in there, sure
but... I want it to stay..
I tend to go for higher concentration, but I think it's fine as long as you don't throw something in there to offgas
Pwater doesn't offgas to the side, so as long as no sublimators drop into there or the place doesn't get cold enough, you should be fine.
I may or may not have built a slightly modified version of the geotuned metal volcano build just so I had room for statues.
Current decor status.
yeah, my personal challenge this month is to actually use decor items
Well, I mean, itβs interesting putting decor items into tamers and stuff
I should rework the spom at some point.
Not sure there's much I can do about the heavi-watt area though other than to just keep the dupes away generally.
Well I didn't get oil before cycle 100, but my dupes are eating wild farmed frost burgers!
Managed to put together a prototype design for the extended spacefarer module.
Oooo are those amber glass tiles?
Gold stained glass (mod)
is that Rendezvous Table?
That is indeed a Rendezvous Table.
forgot to seal β’
Finally starting on getting resources from the other planetoids.
Although I am starting to think I either need to use something other than a gas cargo module for my oxygen or I need to use a more powerful engine.
The oxylite bin beckons
kinda considering using a canister drainer instead
i have been wondering how hard it would be to make a can dropper in a rocket ngl
rather than doing it manually
There is, for everyone but you. The seed was specifically chosen so that if rolled up in Nigit's computer no tree would exist.
We can do that.
We also made it so the tree doesn't show in screenshots when you view them.
It definitely takes a while to fill one of these.
what for, anyway?
I'm using it to make canisters of oxygen to load inside my rockets.
Ohhh, I see.
All of the graphite, lime, and fossil has been successfully stolen from the water planetoid.
It's going to be really nice to actually have some lime again. Last month really had me spoiled for lime at the end.
I have 16 pacu breeders and a working Ancient Specimen, lime won't be a problem for me
algae is still finite, but there's sleet wheat as a backup
and I can start ranching lumbs at any time
At some point I should excavate that last fossil and set up diamond production.
my diamond press is making 300kg of diamond per cycle, thanks to the shine bug reactor
I could set up space mining if I want, but I haven't explored the starmap yet
I've got the starmap fully explored.
space mining is also going to be a source of algae
Not sure what I want to do about radbolt production as I'm not keen on a reactor right now.
wheezeworts should be enough if the goal is just Ancient Specimen
Well I'd like to do space mining.
now I'd like to add more radbolt generators around the shine bug reactor, but there's risk of fatal radiation sickness
it's 18000 rads/cycle around there
Oh no, I'm looking into research reactor designs again.
Debating if I dislike the one I've been using enough to do a full redesign or if I just want to put a bandage on the issues.
I made my first domestic sleet wheat farm...
it's fiiiiiine
As long as they can be dragged to a triage cot radiation exposure is merely an inconvenience. DNA? What's that?
Well I spent a good portion of the night designing a reactor build that is larger and produces less power than my current build.
Oops
Well to be fair the bit about it being larger is mostly a result of my challenge for the month.
I love how convenient this is
first time ever reaching 50 morale
first time making a nosh farm with actual cooling
I'm sure the volcanoes appreciate all the statues.
I'm still not feeling ready to "unleash" the ||salt water geyser||
All of these magma channels sure make it difficult to figure out where to place larger builds.
Got some petroleum finally.
And now some super coolant.
Alright, this should prove interesting. I've built the seed mutator and I've locked away every mutated seed I had sitting around. Time to see how fast I can go from zero to GMO-A-OK.
First harvest. One down.
And I got a pincha pepper so I guess I'm doing my first of many atmosphere swaps.
Just a little bit of decor.
Well that will have to do for tonight. Not too bad for 30 cycles or so. Mind you those were some of the easy ones.
this group of beeta hives have finished their mission
9105kg of enriched uranium in total
nuclear apiary
And there's the sleet wheat taken care of. Time for another atmosphere swap.
Now to wait forever while these nosh beans grow.
the game basically becomes an idle game when it comes nosh beans, bammoths, lumbs, etc.
No luck on the first batch of nosh beans but I've got other projects I'm working on while I wait.
Took two attempts for the beans. In the meantime I've stuffed most of two of the magma areas into a box.
I'm still leaving most of the areas alone
the salt water geyser is still not "discovered" yet
could rely on the cool salt slush geyser on the teleporter asteroid for salt/saltwater
and I think I have used half of the rust on the teleporter asteroid, it's my temporary oxygen source there
Now for a real challenge: waterweed
Managed to get lucky and got one. Although the odds of getting at leas one was like 80% so perhaps not particularly lucky.
finally I'm satisfied with the colony on the teleporter asteroid
now just waiting for a space mining rocket to return
oh, I still haven't recruited Jorge
oh, I should recruit Jorge at some point too
Jorge recruited on Cycle 1111
nice Jorge
In unrelated news, Polluted Mud ceased to exist in this cluster
the space mining rocket is also returning
now I no longer need to import natural gas from home asteroid for gas range on teleporter asteroid
last one
...and then moos! ?π₯Ή
well I've got other projects I'm working on too
been clearing out this space while I wait for GMO
140 cycles to do GMO-A-OK. Not too bad.
Didn't even manage to clear out the area for my side project while I was waiting.
Been a week or so since I played any ONI, but I need to get back to working on my bionic base
Can't say I'm happy about this but I need the dirt.
I kept alI tundra biomes in sterile CO2 to hoard sleet wheat grain
my game have been laggy enough that 2x and 3x speeds are the same
both are 1.5x in practice
Well this will certainly help with the run.
I totally didn't just spend nearly an hour designing an infinite liquid storage with moderate decor levels. No sir.
Finally got around to installing genuine imitation tempshifts in my "Industrial Sauna"
And here's a status update for the green.
the drecko ranch is not green enough
Yeah, I need to fix the drecko ranch and the spom still.
How are you doing that Max?
In other green related news the side project that I was working on while doing GMO is finally operational.
whoa nice
my game is now too laggy for me to enjoy building a reactor setup :(
where she goin
space
she looks about as happy as the space core i spose
Is she in orbit yet?
She came back.
Well I got distracted by decorating and other projects but I managed to get renewable oil before cycle 1000.
1000 has one zero too many
102 many?
We counting zero's now?
Gotta love the 1 layer of floor under a semi flooded frozen biome to prevent a catastrophe
-# skeedle I recommend this mod
good question...haven't gotten a chance to test it out yet since I dont have sporechids
im just getting good vibes from it, ya know
this might take a while
Why don't you?
i dont have spore children
Well Nigit should like this room at least.
I have to admit it is fun watching the dupes fly around to build stuff.
Cycle 1000 status.
can we increase the difficulty if we want
Rush hour.
This should be enough to impress Jorge.
I feel you might overwhelm him.
We need something like the ascetic trait from RW, where they like a mediocre bedroom and simple meals.
can anyone play this?
Everyone's welcome. Join in any time.
There will be a new seed at the start of March, but that's still nearly a month to see what you can do.
The unscheduled FPP map in #1444992147655884892 is still running as long as people are interested in it too, if that takes your fancy.
Finally did something about my biodiesel supply so that I don't have to rely on slime to fuel my rockets anymore.
Don't look Nigit, there's seakomb again.
Brine freezer and geotuning is up and running, the little bit of salt this map produces will be more than enough
complete the challenge at cycle 48.
the real challenge is getting renewable oil by cycle 100
self powered steel refining. I made this without vacuuming first. so it takes a long time to vacuum the steam room.
I rarely vacuum steam rooms these days, I just use the trick from the steam turbine unclogging tag
Decided to start this map, since wanted to play on similar cluster anyway. Playing with max stress, morale, disease and meteor showers without teleporters. This is first 19 cycles so far, 1 ranch is almost full. Finishing advanced research stuff, next plan is to dig down more and automate ranches. A bit surprised that I haven't seen any magma just yet.
Cycle 80 update since I got to oil. It's location is not amazing, but will have to do lol Next on the agenda is basic metal refinery -> steel -> plastic -> steam turbines while also starting with radioactive research. Base for now is literally powered by hamster wheels from the gym, backup coal generators weren't active for like 20 cycles. Everyone is on barbeque, smelling flowers + nature reserve, 20+ morale. Another small thing I tried this game for the first time is using gas canister filler resetting thing as a way to dispose from excess co2, which later is going to be reused by rockets. Also there is so much magma everywhere steam power and petroleum boiling is definitely on the menu sooner than later.
Cycle 140, got a start to the proper industrial brick, but it's so ugly for me, it's hard to look at lol I just planned it to be lower initially, but changed my mind a couple of times and moved it(and water pool above) higher during build. Most of the guys are currently in training, all atmo suits job are done like by 3-4 dupes usually
Right, I'm a bit late to the party but I'm going to give it a try as well. Not sure about getting access to oil in 100 cycles, but I'll do my best π
Got Oil on Cycle 58. I just ||dug straight down||, not sure where the problem was supposed to be π
Found the reservoirs yet? That's the real goal. Renewable oil.
We were specific
Time to keep digging π
I didn't notice that it was about reservoirs, rip. How wells are located is actually quite funny. Also I didn't think that all of them could be in one pocket, I guess it's a quirk of this specific cluster?
Welp... Cycle 100 and no Oil Reservoir... a well, there goes that challenge π
There was some time spent looking for a suitable challenge.
after cycle 1000 I might do another run of just normal dupes to see how hard the challenge is without bionics giving such a headstart
though knowing where to go is half the battle
I think I definitely could get there in 100, if I figured that I need to find wells. I was very close to the correct pocket on 80, but didn't bother to dig further(it was also next logical place for me to dig)
On another note, I infested everything with slimelung. On the plus side, I literally just dug in zombie spore fossil and zombie spores just disappeared.
I guess that is a valid way to deal with zombie spores π
On 285 have petroleum boiler, and wells plugged in. Like how close everything is. Also like how volcano fits in there. All this procrastinating, it's about time to go into space stuff.
Interesting
Cycle 285 Petroleum Boiler is "procrastinating"? π I'd be happy if I have one on Cycle 1285!
For me it's something old, easy and familiar, so yea
Now I decided to expand my industrial area into the hot obsidian boulder, and it's going better than i expected. Might also melt the ice biome under it as a bonus. Guys are moving obsidian and igneous rock into the steam room, since it might get out of hands otherwise(though I doubt it)
Yea, cooling loop doing the work, very well visible on relative temperature overlay. Probably will dig out some other pockets like this too, this one was very annoying.
boiler has been modified once again
and if you're wondering how the magma gets in
been doing some "renovations" to the core
launched my first rocket on cycle 987

Cycle 1000 Update: I'm probably going to call it here for the time being, my PC is really starting to struggle, but this is a save I will definitely return to when I can run the game better in general
Sweeped a couple of hot igneous rock biomes into my steam room and it required expansion from 5 turbines a bit, and it's still struggling lol
Was the goal to cool said rocks? Or to extract power from it?
The goal was to free up space and to place rock somewhere where it will not cause issues. Don't really care about power here
The sound like you achived goal π
Cleared and moved over the whole water planet (well lime, fossil and graphite) to remember that i need aluminum(which I absolutely do not have) to make fullerene, and ended up having to space mine it anyway lol at least making rockets with the bionic robo pilots is really nice, barely an inconvenience. That's my current rockets, hard to make it simpler than that.
Will next be from moonlet selection?
seems likely
Will make a comeback then, everything else has been so dry lately
That or we secretly install Single Astroid with Everything mods onto everyone's PC's while they sleep on the weekend.
I won't even try march seed
Wow next expansion start in 2h, and captain of industry U4 come out in 1.5week π¬
Free time and sleep got trown out the window π
I remember getting hyped for wow expacs
Part of me misses it. Getting hyped for them, I mean.
it's still February
not for long
Finishing this map with this. Also hydrogen rockets are so great, I think I should rush to them more often. The only annoying part is the fuel freezing in pipes if not used, but there are ways around that. Also true tiles mod is great, makes everything look more interesting
Sand! Sand every where in the corridors! π (everywhere here being 3 tiles XD)
I just never got around it in 700 cycles. There was also crown molding blueprint in that corridor which i just removed for like 600 of those lol
